JTS Improvements - Want More

Those "goobers" are non-profit organizations(typically youth sport programs) doing fundraising by serving at games. It is always interesting the ways you find to be a jerk about most topics.
Wow. I meant no disrespect, Francis. But if you have had to wait in long lines at the concessions stands because they are unorganized and understaffed, you might understand. I'll be quiet now, so as to not get you all worked up. Have a nice day.

I think there's still a fair argument to be made that they shouldn't be using volunteers when the slow speed of service ends up having ripple effects on the whole stadium (the long lines are the primary reason people take so long to fill in after half). And at some point they're also losing money because some people opt to not get in those lines at all. This isn't high school sports.

I would bet that the AD and his team have done a cost benefit analysis. They know what they are getting and losing and suspect they are scooping more pennies than not.

I’m trying to figure out why they laid out this patch…

Sure, it’s the start of where one of the squares is supposed to end up being from the renderings, but it doesn’t look the right size.

I forgot to reply last week but there were 3 T&T Sprinkler Service trucks there when I drove by that day. You were right about irrigation being installed.
Thanks for the info on the sprinkler service. I grabbed this picture from today’s webcam feed. Looking closely at the NE hillside one can see a series of white dots that appear to be the sprinkler heads.

Did the old hillsides have sprinklers installed? If not, it looks like they plan on keeping these new hillsides in much better shape. That, along with better slopes/views should translate into a superior hillside experience!

I believe this was scrapped as it didn’t fit in with the long term vision for the multi-use development district.
Does anyone know what exactly this means? I mean can lights not be taken down or something if the space is slightly repurposed? I really thought that looked cool.

I think that the initial version was more of a gathering place. With the new areabasically across the street, they didn’t need a gathering place any more, they needed an entryway. So the plans were changed.

While I agree that the lights did look cool, there’s a fine line there to looking tacky. Like tiki lights on a camper tacky. If you have a couple lights that are out or birds sit on those wires and crap all over, it moves into tacky pretty quickly.

What’s the new area across the street? I must of missed something in the plans. Like on the north side of 4th street?

I don't remember where it was posted, but JP came out and said he was going to wait a year or two to figure out what to do with the plaza area. my guess would be JP wants to see how new flows around the stadium work out before they finalize the plaza. I heard someone has given money to do it right when decisions are made.

If you look closely at the new parking maps, the plaza is labeled "Albaugh Family Plaza" so I'm assuming that's where the money came from. The video rendering on the SPC web page looks to show a pretty basic open plaza area with Trice stripes at the end. I wonder if that's the actual plan or just a place holder in the rendering. https://static.cyclones.com/custompages/SportsPerformanceCenter/spc.html

Oh that’s cool. I’m good with waiting and doing it right.

Wonder if he said that to the DM Reg since he right with them and stuff. Lol

Thanks for positing the link. IIRC, the flyover actually shows two grass squares like that leading up to the Jacobson Building.

Wow! I never noticed (in the video) the Jack Trice stripes sculpture on the north end of the plaza. They add a nicely understated classy look to the area!
