I've seen too many "wow" reactions to my post. To clarify, the needles breaking on my arm was a joke to say how "tough" I was. :p

In reality, I have to look away when they're sticking me. Although I will say, the actual needle for the flu shot feels more painful than the ones for the Covid vaccine.

I thought it was just another reminder that you maybe just once could stop flexing in public.

Speaking of weird reactions--one of the more odd experiences I had was a scratchy/sore throat many years ago. Nothing worked and it wouldn't go away. Wasn't full blown but just kind of one spot in the back.

Went to the Dr. to just see what I needed, and he 'prescribed' me yogurt as it was some sort of bacterial infection that the culture helps.

After two spoonfuls of yogurt I actually got a low grade fever etc. for about a day.

Went away soon after but I still get it occasionally then it's just yogurt again.

Not exactly sure.

Need to convince the wife that sex helps with the Covid shots. I see they are testing third doses now. Gotta work the angles.

I am anxious for Pfizer #2. Frankly, I really don’t care about the possibility of 24 hours of feeling like I have COVID from the shot. I had COVID and it wiped me out for the entire month of November. I happily sacrifice 24 hours of feeling like vomit to know that the chances of losing another month of my life to this damn thing are close to zero.

After one shot, my sense of smell is starting to return. The taste of food is gradually becoming more vibrant again.

As a side note, the autocorrect on my phone keeps changing the “o” in “shot” to an “i”....I have had to edit this post several times to ensure that it didn’t read....differently...

I have Pfizer shot #2 scheduled for Thursday so sure hoping for the best after reading this. Luckily I already took Friday off as they do temp screenings at work before you can enter so didn't want to mess with that if it causes me to run a slight fever. Kinda hoping for nothing more than a sore arm as I want to clean the garage out and get some stuff done outside Friday if I feel fine. Even if I have to endure a day of side effects still worth the long term value to finally being fully vaccinated.

I am anxious to hear how it goes for you. Hoping the second Pfizer helps my son with his long haul issues from Covid in November. He doesn’t get his next shot until next week. Friend of mine lost her sense of taste from Covid in August, and about a week after her first Moderna, she could taste the coffee she had still been drinking for months without being able to taste it. She had stopped the cream and sugar but is now adding it back.

Hydration helps fight off many illnesses. At minimum, you got that going for you.

Both Pfizer shots had little to no effect on me. I had chills for maybe an hour on day 1 of the first dose, but no fever developed. I do remember feeling uncharacteristically tired both day 1 and day 2, not fatigued, but enough to put me down for an extended nap both afternoons.

Looks like J&J showing some potential side effects:

I fainted after a tetanus shot once but I have learned since I shouldn’t look at needles, which also helps me when donating blood
