I think when TJ was hired a media member one of Biliew camp wanted TJ to reach out. If nothing else it sparked their interest and the door hasn't closed.

I 100% think we should recruit him. It's 45 minutes to Waukee (from Hilton) and he can get to any game he wants to. Anyone know if his family is Cyclone or Hawk fans?

You really think he'll be in Waukee two years from now?

this quote and everything else i’ve heard makes me think that there’s almost no chance he doesn’t end up at a blue blood if he goes to college

“Sass reiterated that Biliew wants to play "for a high-level coach that has a history of producing lottery picks" if the NBA still doesn't allow high school seniors to enter the NBA Draft by the time the 2023 class graduates. If the NBA does allow that, Biliew's "plan A" is to go straight to the league, Sass said.”

OK so Biliew likely strong no to want to come to ISU, but who knows for sure, only a sophomore. He is ranked what #1-5 (?) player national as overall and as PF. Harrison Barnes was #1-2 ranked player also when Jr/Sr, right?

So which High school team was better? Ames with Harrison Barnes, and Doug MacDermott; Waukee with Omaha Biliew (sophomore), Tucker DeVries, and the Sandfort brothers?

Feel free to throw in any other IOWA High School Team, Hoiberg's Ames Team; Ames' '72-73 Team (Schneider, Burgason, Caroll; others?

2008-09 Ames with Bubu, Barnes, and McDermott was probably the best team this state has ever seen. Also had a 4 man with D1 offers. McDermott and Bubu were vastly overshadowed in the recruiting scene because they had the best player in the country on their team, much like Georges with Nerlens

At the very least you start recruiting and trying to build a relationship with Omaha in the event "Plan A" or even "Plan B" doesn't work out. To not at least try to recruit a five star player in your own backyard with the assumption he is headed for greener pastures is just downright lazy.

Iowa Falls when Nick Collison played deserves a mention for sure. They would have been a really good probably great team without him but with him they were unstoppable.

Anybody remember what kind of team the '91 Ames/Hoiberg team was? What was their final record, any other D1 players?

Iowa Falls won the Class 2A title in 1998 and 1999.

TJ seems to work. Otz is easy. Contrary to popular message board belief, you don't need to make an acronym to identify your head coach.
I agree, keep it as simple as possible when making a reference to a coach. I blame the emergence of the extra keystrokes on the purple kitties when the vampire was coaching. They didn't like using the straight forward BS when referring to Snyder, although it was often accurate portrayal. CBS was too confusing so they came up with the lame HCBS.
