I'm not sure why I should believe you.

But I've conceded that D Rob probably connected him. I'm saying that maybe TJ should have also contacted him.

At some point it is going to be OK to not think everything TJ does is OK, right? Hell, Matt Campbell gets more **** than this and he's actually proven to be an elite coach.

I think some people got their undies all bunched up because they feel ISU didn't contact the kid.

But TJ did nothing wrong in this case. What's the difference between TJ calling Nunn, or Robinson or Byars? As long as a member of ISU's basketball staff contacted Nunn then TJ/ISU did nothing wrong.

Would we expect that if Robinson offers a kid a scholarship, that kid should be upset because TJ didn't extend the offer? This sounds like TJ delegated a lower priority task to a member of his staff. IMO much more important for TJ to have conversations with guys he wants on his roster vs. guys he doesn't.

It's not like his only job is to contact 10 current players and 2 recruits. I am sure TJ or a member of ISU's small staff is contacting every prospective HS, JUCO, Prep or Transfer recruit that he wants on next years team.

Again, literally no one is saying TJ should honor his commitment.

They are saying that they should leave things with him professionally. I’m sure we will hear that the kid is lying.
Might consider taking a breath, or taking the chip off your shoulder. One or the other.

He never signed who cares, go get better talent. Iowa state shouldn’t be competing with those teams for recruits anyway. No big ten team or other big twelve teams offered.

Reaching out would have been wise, but I’d imagine with this kid TJ probably needed to evaluate his tape before seeing how he fits in. The kid is unranked with no other major offers— I’d imagine before TJ rushed to talk the kid he wanted to know where he saw him fitting in, if at all.

With Hunter you can in day one say you are prioritizing keeping him because that’s a no-brained. With Nunn, I can imagine wanting to see if you can figure out what Steve saw in him that no one else did before you call.

Hole in that theory is Nunn's teammate is currently committed to UNLV. I think TJ had him as a maybe. If he was a definite no the tweet would of looked different.

Not how things should be handled on our side. A quick text saying you are the new coach and will be getting in touch in a few days needed to happen. Only have 2-3 commits, not like football where there are 25-30.
TJ not interested

If TJ felt he was not fitted to his style of play that is his prerogative and better to move on now. Just curious if Monte has sent any public congrats or endorsements to TJ. Hope we can get future Flintstones.
