OMG I laughed so hard at thisIf not from Pollard...it's not true. Remember he said so.
That's easy to do when you compare budgets and institutional support. Are we supposed to not remember we lost fantastic coaches, alumni, that have gone on to win multiple national championships at other schools? McDermott caring more about coaching and developing his son than ISU? This hire, if it is indeed TJ, is lazy and insulting given the quality of other potential realistic coaching candidates.

I am skeptical, but if true, I would feel pretty bad for TJ after all that has been leaked from Vegas. How does he reconcile with them?

If it were me I would have let everyone suffer through about 20 more pages of this thread before writing this.

I honestly hope we are surprised by the hire. I just hope it is a coach that knows how to utilize bigs. We have been severely limited there since Larry. You gotta be able to get easy buckets, defend the lane, and rebound to win the regular season title and advance in the NCAAs. As we have seen, small ball has limitations.
If people are surprised, that means it is someone nobody has thought of, probably not great news.

JP made his announcement about "don't believe what you hear" and hours later we are all hearing this smoke around TJ leaving UNLV. Is this all some kind of ruse and JP and his buddy Otz are having a laugh at us all?? Meanwhile the actual candidate is being more motivated to come to the table.
I don't think that is what's happening. But I think there is a nonzero chance its happening.

I would say from perusing his teams on bbref, similar to Prohm, it's Hoiball Lite. Obviously not as bad as the Cyclones this year, but below average defense and rebounding with not as quite elite of offenses as you would want to see to overcome that. Doesn't mean everything but I am worried that TJ has similar strengths and weaknesses as Prohm. Hopefully his strengths are better and his weaknesses aren't as extreme.
Or, it’s surprising that we were able to land this incredible hypothetical coach?
