Friday OT #2 - I'll Be Ready For The Funeral

I may have to change my answer, because on a closer review of the lyrics this song, like all Van Morrison songs, may actually be about banging.

This is way beyond the pale, compared to what has already been posted here, but here's mine:
It's sung in French, which was the native tongue of Gabriel Faure, who composed it at the age of 19. I sang this in Sanctuary Choir some years ago, and it has always stayed with me.
Side note on the video: Every voice you hear is male. Kind of changes the impact knowing that.

Hope I don't have to make this list anytime soon but I know of 2 I probably will put on mine and this sounds a bit old fashioned/traditional but they are 2 songs that multiple people in my family have had sung/played at their funerals that I like as well.
"How great thou art" Carrie Underwood sings an amazing version of this that we played last year ay my father in-laws funeral. He passed just a couple weeks before the Covid shutdown so in hindsight we were glad we got to have it under normal circumstances
"I know that my redeemer lives" One of my grandmas had this as her last song of her funeral with the request that the organist play the last verse bold and loud as she loved to hear that song on the big pipe organ in her church. I still get chills when I hear this song in church.
