Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

I'm not super keen on hiring a .500 mid major coach either.

I agree! This^^^^^^^every day of the week and twice on Sundays. When it comes to Fred, the selling point for me would be he has done it at ISU before. That right there might be enough to make him successful at ISU again. This is of course all based on the paper thin chance any of this BS being thrown around is true. If it's not....get someone who has had some success sitting in the head coaches chair at this level before.

If Hoiberg legit wanted to come back to ISU then you do everything you can to make that happen if you’re Pollard. But I haven’t seen one shred of evidence suggesting that is the case. This is nothing more than the same old crap that we’ve seen for the last six years from the same people that can’t get over the fact that he left. This thread has a serious chance of overtaking the Rashad Vaughn thread as the worst thread in the history of CF.
Fred has reached out to Pollard and very much wants to come back. Neb is even willing to help make it happen if ISU wants Fred.

15 home games times $ 40=$600. All it takes is 2500 less tickets to each game to cover Prohm's one extra year of buyout. Does anybody think there will be more than a 10,000 fan average next year for the games with this coaching staff?:(

Says certain folks in the know. You should feel fortunate that crumbs like this are left here. There is a fairly high chance that even if Fred doesn’t end up back home coaching, he will be leaving Nebraska this year.

Don’t get me wrong, all for this. But the obvious questions exist.
1. why would Fred leave with the best recruiting class NU has, with a 5 star McGowins coming in?
2. Why would he come back with a full rebuild again, under harder circumstances than 2010 and better league all together?

This doesn’t even account for potential issues with the money. Just trying to account for a plausible case to be made.

Fred and the AD don’t appear to be on the same page. Some things have happened that Fred did not like at all.

Well, if true...it must be bad, if that can’t be reconciled. He’s got a new(ish) arena, sellout crowds, best recruiting in years coming in, legacy coaching, and with one NCAA tourney win and he’s the best coach in NU history. But hey, come home coach Fred!

This reminds me of quote in Oceans 11. "So you know a guy". Dont make bold statements like that without first hand info. Dont write checks with your mouth your ass can't cash.

Agree with most of this. Fred was quoted as saying he wanted NU to be his last stop. Didn't he? I realize that can be coach-speak, but I don't think it was.

I figure someone else has said this, but there's no mistaking that we ran into a buzzsaw of a schedule this year. That's not to say we haven't had some bad losses.

SDSU is a juggernaut. Only possible explanation possible for that loss. Milwaukee and Florida A&M too I guess

1. the same reason TJ would leave with the recruiting class he has coming in at UNLV. May not be 1990 UNLV but it is a decent class. Well, I guess we might pay more than UNLV I don't know. But the reason would be to come back to ISU.
2. because there would be absolutely no expectations for years to come. Although NU fans were not expecting a Big Ten title and final four his second year.......they were certainly not expecting just 2 conference wins. Here at ISU.....Fred will get all the time he needs and then some.

So........if ANY of this is just more than internet BS.....the money issues can be easily resolved by all parties. We are talking millionaires here not people ready to go on the picket line for $2 more per hour plus benefits.
