I feel for them too. They obviously are trying to win and I do hate commentary about them being “soft” or not wanting to win.
The fact of the matter is they have a coach that couldn’t construct a competitive roster and can’t coach to fix the deficiencies we have. That’s not their fault.
Yeah this team isn't going to be competing for titles, but with proper coaching they could be decent. I think they could have potentially made a push for the tournament as like a 10/11 seed if they had good coaching. The problem is the players aren't growing and are really regressing because of the lack of coaching.
Bag on Prohm all you want but until the players decide to rebound this loss is on them - the rebounding was the difference in the game.
I feel like two guys on a team in the rec league discussing executing a pick and roll is better offense than whatever the Cyclones are doing.

This team has no killers. Every close game opportunity they’ve folded and made a boneheaded play. The offense the last 10 min was horrendous. Different game same result. Oh and our walk on got a offensive rebound in 45 secs and starting center for zero.
I miss winning this game by 10 and getting mad that we're playing down to the level of the opponent.
For some reason I feel like I did after the 2015 Kansas State football debacle. Really the end of the line.
And you can also at least try to do something about that from a coaching standpoint. TCU can’t shoot and yet we still chased them off the line. Dare them to shoot it and pack the lane for rebounds. The 20 second chance points are more dangerous the lightly contested 3’s from a poor shooting team.
But that would take putting together a scouting report.
I'm devastated; this is the lowest. And I was there for the 3-win season in the 70's. Despair; this sucks.

If it was one player or one bad game then maybe that argument would be valid. It is a coaching issue because it has persisted for years now.
I think if you played slow, committed to defense, throw it to solo on the block a lot, Put Bolton at the two, and you have everyone you could win 5 or 6 games in conference...Bolton alone would get you a couple at home
you can tell though, they are so buried mentally they just can’t get out
Rebounding like total and complete dog**** wasn’t going to be good enough to lose this one...we had to dig deep and completely shut down any good ball movement and shot selection on the offensive end the final 10 minutes.
Hopefully next year’s coach brings SOME type of toughness to the program (physically and mentally)...that was absolutely pathetic

One game bad rebounding can be a player issue. When it's nearly every game you have a coaching issue, whether that be technique or motivation. Both of those fall under the coaches jurisdiction.
