*** Official Iowa State Season Thread ***

Didnt watch but it looks like we played a decent game? Had more assists than turnovers for like the 2nd time this season.

I bet my wife and son on what would happen in the last 10 seconds.

A. ISU hits a 3
B. ISU turns it over
C. ISU hits a 2
D. ISU misses shot.
E. ISU gets fouled

I bet B.

I saw the ball go to Bolton. Sadly, and yet hilariously, I knew I had it in the bag.

I can’t understand why we are trying to play Bolton at the point, just way too many turnovers to play that spot, he’s not a point guard, why we are pretending he is I have no idea.

A bit of a weird critcism when the guy you favor had more turnovers this game, as well as less assists.

Great job! You really nailed it and telling us about it is even more awesome.

What did you win in the bet?

Just finished watching the game. We’re starting to pull it together a little too late in the season. I wish Tre was full strength this game because i think he could have made the difference. Not having a serviceable big outside of Solo is killing this team.

Also, did we set the record at Hilton for air balls tonight?

Rasir Bolton is not a point guard. Not even close. He would rather throw up a triple pump reverse no look layup than pass to an open teammate. What the hell is that anyway? He also loves to run into brick walls for no apparent reason.

To be fair he just spent a bunch of time playing with the freshmen who can't seem to score at all. I mean people are saying walker had his best game and he had 6 pts. A 1:1 assist:TO ratio, and 6 rebounds. That might be the best game by any freshman this season. Xavier had like a 10 and 2 game and a 8 and 4 game. Until tonight Xavier was 2nd out of the 4 freshman in total points scored (28), and he hasnt played half the season.

So that makes it ok for Bolton to continue to force terrible shots with 3 wide open teammates?

Exactly.

Remember how we made fun of Fran for YEARS because he never had a pg? He kept playing 2s at the 1 and it killed his teams. When he finally put Connor(iirc) at pg they improved, because even tho he was terrible, it freed up others to be good at their natural spot.

ISU has won some close games under CSP but more often than not late possessions down by a bucket has resulted in a lot of 'What was that?'.

There is absolutely no reason Walker shouldn't be the PG from here on out. Although a tad weak at times, his ball handling ability is good. As he keeps getting stronger and puts time in, he'll be able to do whatever he wants with the ball. His height is also a large advantage as well. I like him a lot and as I can see on here a lot of others do as well. Moving Bolton off the ball will help with a lot of things.

So expect this change about February 25ish.
