His downfall is that he tries to play an offensive game that relies on having at least two solid 3p shooters but has only gotten one in his entire tenure here and his defensive strategy ******* sucks. If in fact he has a strategy. You don’t kill a guy for bringing in the best talent he can get.

Just square peg round hole stuff here with the current staff.

if you want to play like the 18-19 team, then you have to recruit to it. This Current roster makeup needs to play differently. 94 feet athletic, kind of West Virginia it out.

the good news is that the new coach will have plenty of available schollies to be able to field the type he wants

First of all, from what I hear Prohm is a great person/family man. He had HUGE shoes with even loftier expectations to fill when Hoiberg bolted for the Bulls.

With that said, during his official introduction press conference, he was clearly nervous. He certainly didn't project confidence. But that trait is important for any head coach. If you are not confident, your players will not be confident. In Prohm's first year, he leaned heavily on the leadership of Niang. Georges, I felt, really kept the team together to make a tournament run that year. I felt it wasn't Prohm's team, but it was Georges' team.

For comparison, the CMC introduction press conference was quite the opposite. He looked straight ahead, made eye contact, and was very confident. And those traits are clearly still visible today. During that press conference, people may had been skeptical of where the team would go... but at least people felt the coach believed in his plan to turn the program around.

Two coaches, two very different personalities, and two different results. Confidence matters in a coach, and it I don't think Prohm projects enough confidence to run this program.

Getting busy with college women and going to rub and tugs aren’t violations, right?

Anybody want to talk about Jamal Tinsleys brother driving around in a brand new 4 Runner after Hampton?

We have broken our fair share of rules. What Sampson did isn't even a violation anymore.

Look at the numbers this year. Shooting 2's or 3's isn't the big issue. Prior to Covid postponements we had almost the exact same shooting % from 2 and 3 as our opponents.

This year we are doing poorly because we are horrible at:
  • Defending the dribbler. Guys get beat causing others to foul.
  • Weak Offensive & Defensive Rebounds
  • Not Physical. We don't shoot enough free throws. Our opponents make more free throws than ISU attempts.
I agree our offense stinks. It is all about pounding the basketball. He's all about PNR and the weave. No passing, no cutters, weak-a$$ screens. To top it off, we are more concerned about getting back on defense vs. sending 2-3 guys to the offensive boards. When we take shots, typically we send at most 1 guy to grab offensive rebounds. We are lucky to get a handful of offensive rebounds each game, while the opponent typically gets a dozen or more. More shots = More Points.

Unless you have inside info. Isn't is more likely that Tinsley signed with an agent right after the Hampton loss and his agent gave him an advance to buy a car?

I don't think it's a huge secret that Tinsley may have been shaving points in the Hampton game. I actually kind of thought this was common knowledge by this point.

So I take it based on the above you have NO inside information and just repeating chatter.

What other games do you speculate he was shaving points in?

Plenty of ISU athletes have gotten cars and free meals.

Sorry, Tinsley was absolutely shaving points. We weren't supposed to lose, just not cover. It's why at the end of the game he came, grabbed the ball, went end to end, but missed the damn layup. Sorry for popping the bubble on that guys.

So again you have ZERO inside knowledge. You just want to CREATE a narrative that fits some conspiracy theory you have. Did Virginia, Duke, etc. have players that shaved points when they were upset in the NCAA Tournament?

If you have inside information great. But you are spreading slanderous gossip about an ISU basketball player. I am assuming you are an ISU fan, so I don't know how you can take pleasure spreading such gossip. Shaving points is probably the worst actions a athlete could do on court/field.

Like I said in reply to your original post, it is STANDARD PROCEDURE for agents to give their clients cash advances prior to the draft. So if Tinsley's brother was driving around a nice car after ISU's season ended, the more likely explanation is Tinsley's agent gave him the money to buy a new car.

Lol

LeBron James was driving a hummer in high school before he had an agent. His mom bought if for him with a loan based off his futures estimated earnings. Doesn’t me he did anything illegal.

Seems like solid evidence that Tinsley was point shaving since his brother was driving a new SUV. Nevermind Jamaal's collegiate career was over and he was about to become a first round pick. Congrats inspector on a job, done.
