Thanks a bunch. Appreciate the kind words. I try to keep it rolling and as much of a positive community as I can. Glad you are enjoying the series. For the most part, I'm enjoying the series as well, even if it isn't my favorite MCU installment. More so than anything, I'm appreciating Marvel Studios having the bravery to try something new and applaud them for that. No doubt it will hit with some and not as much with some others, and that is ok. Nobody should feel bad about not liking it at all. You all have the right to your opinion as it is all subjective anyway. In the meantime, I've been super curious as to how the two sides of the fence (liking/not liking) shake out as this thing progresses.

On a side note, cheers from me to bringing back FBI Agent Woo. I know his character didn't exactly hit with a lot of people in Ant-Man and the Wasp. It seems many people found him to be a little too over-the-top corny. I just wasn't one of them and found him hilarious and loved his character. I love Randall Park as an actor in genreal. Him in Always Be My Maybe is one of the better chick flicks of the last 10 years.

Agent Woo is so corny and ridiculous it's why I like him. It's either don't do it or go all the way with it for me. I think I lean toward your feelings on the different approach to WandaVision. The standard MCU/super hero stuff has been done, and we like it. So we will get plenty more of that. I like seeing chances taken here and there because maybe something will hit that I never thought would have. This show isn't going to be for everyone, nor will any show. I am just more of a, let it all play out and then see. This show is definitely going to be better for most when you can binge the entire thing at once.

Can't you have both? I've been more than entertained with it. And my point is if you can't see that they obviously have some sort of plan to give it a little patience I don't know what to tell you. It's not like these are hour plus long episodes. Just my opinion though.

Some of my favorite shows took whole seasons to get good.

Star Trek shows famously took until their second\third seasons to get great and those shows had 26 episodes a season. Agents of Shield was a slow moving show moving pieces around for like 15 episodes until Winter Soldier dropped and they could incorporate that twist. Game of Thrones took until the end of the first season.

I'm rewatching some old Scrubs episodes right now. I liked the first 3-4, but there's an obvious jump in quality around episode 5 when they start hitting their stride.
Jericho and Heroes took time, then got rolling, then hit the Writers' Strike (at least Heroes), and then not so much.

It takes time for shows to get going.

First off, that episode was more like what I was expecting. Nice work by the studio. I’ll keep watching but another episode of build up with very little reveal might have made me rethink it. Did not help that they are short episodes and weekly. I mean, I was not expecting an action thriller, but the first 3 episodes did not really do anything to grab anyone.

I watch to be entertained too and the first 3 were not that. The only reason I kept watching was because it was the MCU. My kids are big MCU fans and they quit because it was too boring. It’s definitely not for everyone but for those of us who have the weird loyalty to the MCU will continue to watch because we almost have to. I just think that this one just isn’t for everyone.

Ok, you guys have me optimistic to watch this tonight despite my criticisms to date.

patience young whipper snapper!

in all reality I agree with you. The first two episodes gave me a wtf moment, third was ok. Hoping for something better with this one. I think I was spoiled in that I didn’t watch hardly any of the marvel movies prior to Covid and then just busted all of them out in a few week when the pandemic hit. I Got a little spoiled from that.

All fair points and exactly like you said. People have their opinion on movies and shows. It’s just that, their opinion so there is no right or wrong. I think where I come from is the ones that are looking for traditional MCU may get just that with episodes moving forward once you hit episode 4.

Take this for an unpopular opinion for example. After seeing Endgame opening night I came away severely disappointed. Like I almost hated it, and a lot had to do with what I personally wanted it to be. Each time I see it I like it more even though Infinity War is still my favorite between the two. And that’s not the popular opinion out there.

Don't get me wrong as I still love Endgame, however, believing Infinity War was better is not an unpopular opinion. I too prefer Infinity War and there are a lot of others too.

I agree, worked out perfectly then but when we got through them (some of them more than once), it was almost like a letdown since we didn’t have anything else to watch. We’re going through some of the other shows but they aren’t as good.

I too was disappointed in Endgame. Maybe some of it was just being sad the whole thing was over. I didn't care for the final battle other than the Cap/Iron Man/Thor/Thanos fight. The rest of the battle was a little too much fan service...the flying horses, the grouping of girls, the handoff of the gauntlet where every key character got his little scene. I didn't like the fat Thor either. But the rest of it (time travel) has kind of grown on me. Overall I thought it was a good ending to the saga, but it's nowhere near Infinity War, which I see as almost a perfect action/superhero movie.

Ok. Joining the party. Just binged (if you call it that) all 4 episodes. That is DEFINITELY the way to do that. No question. That is suck a mindf*ck at the beginning. I intentionally knew nothing about it so I could watch it without anything preconceived. I was starting to get almost mad by episode 3 because I wanted something more to explain wtf was going on. Those commercials are LOADED with breadcrumbs I will guarantee you. It’s so different but does turn into an agents of shield feel.

I have more questions but don’t want to drop spoilers

Love it so far. Just further proof the MCU is the gold standard in entertainment, at least for me personally.

And Infinity War is definitely better than Endgame. Josh Brolin makes Infinitely War

Josh Brolin is all time bad guy in any movie IMO

Agree with the Infinity War being better than Endgame comment. The story is just more compelling and stands on its own so much better than Endgame does, but really they're supposed to be two halves to one story, but I can see why they wanted to try to make them both their own. I guess I like them for different reasons. Infinity War was the setup, and Endgame is the payoff not only for Infinity War but for an entire decade of movies before it. Of course it's not going to stand on its own.

WandaVision episode 4... I keep coming back to this thread to see if you doubters like this show yet! I'm going to be the weird one and say that I wish there was a whole season of Westview Wanda because this episode would have made one hell of a season 2 opener.

Yeah, who ARE those two people in the commercials? They are always the same but never referenced in the reality world.
