losing at Hilton is not acceptable how long does Pollard put up with it

Are people actually disappointed in last night?

Did they expect a different result with a limited roster that was already limited for a whole bunch of reasons?

OSU was limited as well and two or three freshman playing and a couple sophomores. Just shows the difference in talent and coaching. It’s not like it was a close game where you can say ISU would have won with say JCL and a Johnson playing.

We had 7 players available. Hadn’t played a game in 2 weeks and probably hadn’t practiced much.

Absofreakinglutely!

Did I expect to win - heck no!

but you should never get out rebounded by 30 and only have 5 assists for the entire game no matter what! That comes down to effort, leadership, and coaching. Granted Phrom isn’t the one playing but he sure as heck isn’t motivating, coaching, leading, or getting results and that’s all on him!!

Last night reminded me of rural high school basketball. The inferior team can play as hard as possible but talent doesn't care. It was kind of remarkable that it was even that close.

Yes the cowboys were limited but no where to the extent that we were. I mean we were out 4 starters including 3 of our top 4 scorers. So it’s not really comparison that can holds up. For most of the game we kept them in striking distance too and I think it was 8 points at the under 4 timeout so it’s not like this was the tech game where we were blown out from the start

You could see the Cowboys pacing their effort in this one. When they decided to, they ran us out instantly.

But I think it shows the difference in talent. Their young guys are way better. I mean two of the guys out are gone next year and Johnson isn’t very good. You are basically looking at next years game against OSU.

While I don’t think you are too far off what you are saying, it’s an assumption that grossly oversimplifies the situation. Plus the cowboys got to go against a 6’6” big man and i hard disagree on Johnson

Johnson has a PER of less than 12 in conference, is a poor shooter, not a good rebounder and turns it over a lot.
OSU had a 6’7 freshman as their “big” a lot of the game.

Disappointed? Not necessarily. I won a bunch of money because this blowout was predictable.

I came into this year hoping to see glimpses for the future, and last night, if nothing else, was a chance to really see the freshman play. And what I saw was guys that are 2+ years away from being major contributors. That's just not the timeline we are on.

You watch those two freshmen for OSU, Walker and Alexander-Moncrief, and you'd have thought they were top 50 prospects. Walker was #102 and Alexander-Moncrief was #160. The difference is they've received actual coaching and motivation.

hard to believe the same george conditt was making 3's as an 18 yr old...
