It's not just that it's not fair. You're saying you think Otz actively rooted for his own players that he recruited and clearly cared about to fail. That's not just unfair- it's offensive. Again, you can think that but it makes you an *******.

And I said it is hard not to believe. Not necessarily that I believe it.

Fred is never coaching at ISU again. Him and his wife hated there time back in Ames. They couldn’t go anywhere without people constantly bothering them and their kids. He’s a big celebrity in Ames and he doesn’t want that lifestyle. Him and his family want to blend in with everyone when they’re out and about. They had no privacy being back in Ames.

Yes Fred is not coming back to coach in Ames. You are only half right about hating their time back in Ames. It is Carol who didn't like it. And she calls the shots. I would see Fred at Lowe's and other places around town. Almost no one bothering him. In fact, he would get a big grin on his face when people would walk-by and say 'Hi Fred'. Fred would not have gone out if he felt that he was being bothered.

I wasn’t a fan of hiring Otz the first time around, but I said I’d be interested the next time around after he has some HC experience. While he’s not my first choice still, he’s probably a lot more of a realistic choice than Phil Jackson and so on.

I’m encouraged that he saw first hand of Fred hiring former HC’s and so on when he was a first time coach, and it worked for him. One of Prohms biggest downfalls is he just wouldn’t hire a good staff. Last year I was on board with keeping Prohm IF he made some major changes to his assistants. He didn’t and it’s time to go.

I find it funny when some people say he had no privacy in Ames but then he was completely anonymous in Chicago.

Yeah, I'm sure basketball fans in the 3rd largest city in the country which happens to be a basketball hotbed have no idea who the Bulls coach is.

This has the feel of a game where Tyler Harris gets 40. Then doesn’t play the next 5 games because we’re just helping him be a better person or something.

ISU only has 6 scholarship players available. WHich team do you think is getting the touch fouls called on them 5-1?

This is going to be hard to build back up IMO.

Not with the right coach. It’s college basketball where 1 or two players with really good coaching matters immediately. But hiring someone that has to learn on the job will take longer.

I’m higher on TJ than most - long time assistant with P6 experience, ISU experience to know what it takes to win here, low-major, and “mid-major” UNLV experience with a complete rebuild. There is worse out there. But give me an established coach first. TJ second.
