NFL: ***2020 NFL Season Thread***

Lazard was running a skinny post and the DB grabbed his jersey at the shoulder (jersey was pulled down his shoulder pad and the DB was able to pull himself in front of Lazard and get the pick around the 45 yard line.

Ah I remember, yeah that probably should've been called but I don't think it was as blatant or noticeable as the last one.

This was happening literally every passing play. Refs decided to call it only once...the most critical play of the game.
On the flip side it was also the most critical play of the game for TB and it would have been bad had they not called it from that standpoint.

Yeah I'm not sure why people are saying GB got screwed. There were others that could've been called earlier, but they weren't as obvious as the last one. He had hold of his jersey and slowed him down to the point where he couldn't get to the ball.
There are two factors. First the ball ended up not even close to catchable. If you want to argue that was because of the penalty fine I think it still was in catchable but that’s reasonable. The other reason is because they had been letting all sorts of just as bad of contact go uncalled. It wasn’t just iffy ones like you said. It was blatant ones.

There was another play where the GB player (maybe Lazard again) was held hard on the release and then had his jersey held just as bad on an incomplete pass. The thing was, there were penalties that would get called routinely (several blatant blocks in the backs that sprung runners for a first is one example) and they weren’t called. Why chose this one instance to make the call/s you hadn’t all game?

How come nobody is talking about the obvious hold on Tristan Wirfs on that same play? Brady would have been sacked or maybe had the ball stripped had Wirfs not been holding on for his life trying to block Gary from GB. That was just as obvious as what Kevin King did. See below....
