In the DSM metro, my new SUV was going to be $1,000 through the dealer for undercoating, paint protection, and the interior (they don't do it themselves; it's done by a place off Douglas in Urbandale). When I bought my previous car, I just took it to the same place that does it and paid $350 at dealer pricing (had a former relative that worked at the dealer and I got their cost). With the price increase over time and more needed for the SUV vs the car, I would say the dealer takes the price and doubles it to get their take.

Square Trade offers a 4 year extended for a pretty decent cost...$189 for a TV in the $1000 to $1500 range. Covers pretty much everything that might happen.

For ATT folks, both Best Buy and Walmart are offering up to $900 off of the entire Iphone 12 line (Mini, regular, and Pro). You get up to $700 for a trade in and another $200 for the transaction. Pretty generous on the trade in...they are giving $700 for an Iphone 8. There are other details, so be sure to read up on them.

I have a 32" Sony Bravia that I bought in 2008 that is still going strong as our bedroom TV. Easily the heaviest TV we own (even vs our 50" 4K Vizio) but that makes me think it's also built to last. I have no reason to believe it is dying anytime soon.
 
I just removed my last CRT this summer . . . . it was in my yard shed (mancave) that I would watch football on in the fall. And yes, I could live in my shed if I had thought ahead and put a toilet in but alas, I have to make the trek into the house for some duties.

Similar. Have a 42" Sony at least that old. Nothing ever goes wrong with it in 12+ years. Technology unfortunately passed it by. It only has one HDMI input. I'm finally going to replace it next spring when I trek back to IA.

I will be looking for recommendations then - to include sound system associated with it. I I do a lot of music/concert viewing so need 5.1 surround. With a minimum of cords etc. And don't want to take out a second mortgage.
 
I have no experience with this brand, REI does sell them, 75% off for Black Friday so I'm going to try out something. Some sort of recycled plastic bottle materials used.
