Iowa State is favored by nine over Kansas State

“Hopefully we have a good week this week from a COVID standpoint,” Klieman said, “because we are right on the cusp. I couldn’t tell you the exact numbers, but we had more than we would have liked get crossed out last week.”

Klieman said the outbreak hit K-State’s freshman class the hardest, making it difficult to field a scout team for starters to practice ahead of Iowa State.

Overall, 78 K-State football players have tested positive for COVID-19 this season, according to Riley County data.

Frankly it is the responsibility of the football program and its staff and players to keep themselves covid free. K State has shown repeatedly they are not taking proper precautions to avoid this problem. I think they should be forced to forfeit if they can't field a team.

Came here to say this exact thing. **** postponement. ISU shouldn't be penalized for staying healthy and disciplined.

Well, that would assure an ISU win.

Gotta love a KSU fan talking to ISU about legitimacy of a game after they won a recent matchup only by having 3 obvious late penalty flags picked up for no reason.

KSU could forfeit and we'd still be owed a cheap victory over them.

Its not ISUs fault the KSU staff and players do not have the discipline to properly mitigate the spread of disease. One outbreak I get, but this is a pattern with KSU. Why should any other school have to be inconvenienced or players put at risk on the field of play for your programs inability to do what many other sports programs and organizations have successfully done.

Because the Big XII specifically set up the schedule to account for such occurrences. If we don’t play Saturday, we play in December.

The reason for that is because some people in the conference office were bright enough to realize you can’t control everything an 18 year old kid might do. They don’t always make the greatest choices. Like, everyone knows that.

Feel free to get off your self righteous high horse, and pay attention to the agreed upon rules and procedures.

You must have been a saint in college.

Playing KSU at the end of the season for a shot at the title game? Whew....not sure how I feel. The league did agree upon rules, but I'd hope we would only postpone if they truly couldn't field the team...if we'd play a bunch of 3rd stringers, that's on them for not having discipline.

Gonna be pissed if we play the game, then get our own outbreak from playing it.

I'm not aware of any reported cases of COVID being transmitted between players during a football game. Not that I've done an in-depth search, but I don't think it happens.

Thought the 3rd stringers were the ones that have Covid?
