Not just Saban,.....

Yea, I am very impressed with the ISU fanbase which seems to take the precautions seriously. It was hot Saturday, but most everyone masked up and socially distanced.

Then I drive home to KC through Missouri, stop at a gas station to hit the WC, and literally no one in the store is wearing a mask.smh

That is literally every single rural Iowa gas station that I have been in since this all started. It's pathetic.

Yep, People are done with it. I was in Omaha over the weekend and it seems they are more into the mask thing but not so much staying apart from each other. I wear a mask if a store requires it. Otherwise I live a normal life.

You know you can still live your life wearing a mask.

In fact, you can live a better life. Case in point, I wouldn’t have been able to go to the Iowa state game without a requirement for masks.

I was just at the quick trip across from Firestone tonight grabbing a drink and myself and my friend are the only ones wearing a mask. I didn't get shamed but it's obvious people are over it.

Convenience Stores seem to be the worst. If you go to a DSM metro HyVee or Fareway almost everyone wears masks but when you stop at a gas station it's completely opposite. I suppose some of that is the cliental but still.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I find it fascinating the disproportionate relationship between who wears a mask and who really needs to wear a mask. I very rarely see someone in the 18-25 demographic out-and-about without a mask. But I regularly see 40-70 year olds in public without a mask. You'd think those more at risk of serious illness would be more sensitive than the 18-25 year old kids who will likely be fine.

You are talking about a group of 40-70 year olds who have been lied to by the government their whole lives from Weapons of Mass Destruction to several other things. At this point we are being told by our government things and we have to sit back and decide if they are lying about this also. Young people still have some trust in the government. That is my theory.

Sounds like the youngsters you are observing are holding up their end, being thoughtful of beings other than themselves and their immediate peers, and the oldsters are not. Interesting view about who "really" needs to wear a mask.

I guess all I'm saying is you'd think the more at risk you are the more you'd want to wear a mask, understanding, however, that wearing a mask is more about protecting others than protecting yourself. Just an observation. At risk of caving this thing I'll stay out from here!

My family is hiding out at home with a newborn. But I can see why people are letting their guards down.

4 people I know closely have contracted COVID-19. 1 had minor symptoms for a day, far easier than the flu (58 yrs old average heath) and the other 3 did not have a single symptom (all under 30 and healthy).

I've seen several shared pictures of people on social media who have passed from COVID. They are either 80+ or extremely over weight.

Now again, I'm being safe. But I can understand why peoples guards are down. It all goes back in my opinion to NYC in April and May. Most of the US media s based in NYC. They were live in the worst public health crisis maybe ever for a city or state. That is what Americans have heard about the disease for months. Yet most have no one who passed from the disease who wasn't at risk

It's just how America works... Home of the free for better or worse. We are a very selfish race, it's always me first

It's not just an American thing as other countries are feeling the fatigue and some have had protests, etc. And I understand people getting tired of restrictions.

I just don't understand the segment of the population that thinks going out to a bar or restaurant is a need. And that's not just the college crowd.

Nothing is a need. That is the problem. What you "need" is not what others "Need". People like to go have fun. Maybe you like to go fishing and hunting. What if they said you can't go fishing and hunting any longer? Some people like to go out and socialize and have a few drinks. I work from home and have for 5 years. Going to the bar is my way of having social interaction. Just because going out to the bars and restaurant's is not your thing. It is a "Need" for many of us to be able to interact and have fun, meet new people, and blow off steam.

I want to know why a person fearful or uncomfortable would go inside a convenience store?? Then get online and complain about no one wearing masks? Get your gas and leave. Adapt, make your treats at home, buy your drinks at a grocery store where everyone wears masks. Its like going into a bar then ******** about people who drink.

Camping was not allowed until June in WI. So I accepted it and still found ways to fulfill the actual healthy need of getting outdoors in other ways. There are times when I can't fish legally. So I have a plethora of other things to do to adapt.

Now if there was a case of people actually being forced to stay indoors, I would have a problem with that as there's evidence that spending time in green spaces/nature etc. leads to positive health outcomes and it's absolutely possible to do those things outside of a crowd.

Otherwise my basic needs of food and shelter are met and that can be good enough.

......the AD at 'bammer also was positive today.

N Dakota, S Dakota and Montana have the highest per-capita infection rates in the country. If you can't social distance in those god forsaken places, be forewarned.

The next wave will be the worst.

In/on Ft Myers beach as we speak... Dropping in on my Dad who lives in a golf retirement community. Had dinner at the club tonight and while our table was distanced from all others, these old geezers have NOT taken any of the precautions to heart. We DID see my Dad's geezer friend lay into a social butterfly geezer woman who insisted on coming up hugging and putting hands on people (tables of 10+ btw). She then comes to our table to gush over my Dad but she put her geezery hands on ME which I didn't appreciate. Keep your liver spotted hands to your OWN damn self lady!

Beaches so far have been clean and distanced, but it's really hit and miss with other establishments including wait staff. By comparison, CoSprings is probably 98%+ compliant in my personal experience.

Lotta folks still gonna die from this simply because they are lazy and non-compliant...

If you're using the restroom it SHOULD be out and in. That may explain why you're not supposed to be hanging around elementary schools - it's still out.

I think you're talking about me, and I don't really think I was ******** about it. I was simply saying that I didn't see anyone wearing them. I only wear one out of respect for others, but since you wanted to be an ass, eat a ****.
