It's a miracle!

I was told that I had to always try a food....and then, if I didn't like it, so be it. Although as a kid I quickly realized that A) Dad was going to make sure we ate what was on our plate and B) Whatever Mom served was the only option.

They tried that on me with sweet potatoes, I took one bite and ran to the bathroom to pretend puke

When we were kids we pretty much ate whatever was thrown in front of us. Of course mom was a good cook and everything we had was homemade.
Except for liver, we begrudgingly ate that. I have never had beef liver since I left home and I don't miss it.
I cannot eat liver. We had six kids in our family -- 3 boys, 3 girls. All the girls loved liver, all us boys hated it. We of course had to eat what was being served. One night we were having liver and I couldn't get it past my gag reflex, and wound up puking on my plate.

My mom said, "Thats it! No more liver for the boys."

This is fake news! Sausage is a wonder meat and you can never stop the desire to eat more of it. A carrot here or there is fine.... it reminds you of how much you miss that tasty sauage.

Your morning dumps must make clanging sounds like Notre Dame Cathedral when they hit the bottom of the bowl. #Impressed ;)

What very white very affluent school do your kids go to? Lol if you think this is true.

It is extremely common for kids to listen better to adults other than their parents. Or put it this way, they are comfortable pushing boundaries with parents that they do not for other adults. From parenting, to watching many nieces and nephews and years of coaching youth sports and chaperoning school field trips I'd say this is overwhelmingly true.

That has zero to do with it. I'm not talking about school, I'm talking about how my children behave for other adults in all sorts of situations. I have confirmed this with other parents I know as well. As you have admitted, you would know nothing about this, but glad you could try to shoehorn white privilege into the conversation.

Online debating 2020 style:

Person A: This happens and it's due to white privilege
Person B: These statistics and facts show that is likely not true
Person A: Subjective truth in science and math are constructs of racist western white male society and need to be torn down.
Person B: That makes no sense, please explain further how math is racist.
Person A: Whatever, Nazi. Aren't you late for your Proud Boys rally?

Yeah, It's pretty basic psychology, and true for adults too. Our families all get the best and worst of us because we know they will love us even when we act a little crazy. With people outside the family you are trying to win their approval so you skip the moments where you lose your sh!t (well most of us anyways). Kids are the same way.
