ISU opens as 14 pt favorite vs TTU

SP+ says we should win by 12 or 13. We're 10 spots better than them offensively (42nd vs 52nd), 66 spots better defensively (30th vs 96th) and 62 spots better on special teams (9th vs 71st). SP+ is 62% against the spread so far this year. Still a lot of preseason ratings reflected in these rankings though. Takes 4 games for preseason projections to be <50% of the calculation, and continues to go down each game until it is totally gone heading into the 8th game.

UTEP is 3rd from the bottom and they are 3-1.

It was noted on the Solid Verbal that this is an open faced letdown look ahead sandwich for our beloved team. So fingers crossed.

ISU under Campbell has done a pretty good job of handling TTU and there is no reason for this team to not be focused, but I felt the same way for the Louisiana game, and that was ugly.

I see this game as similar to TCU last year. A chance to flex against a decent but inferior opponent at home after a couple tough games. We don't have a history of letdown after big wins under Campbell. 45-0 over KS in 2017 after knocking off OU, the WVU beatdown after OSU, followed by a comfortable Tech win in 2018. The WVU game in 2017 after knocking off TCU wasn't as much a let down as a good opponent on the road. KS last year, unfortunately, was more of an indication of problems than a let down.

Given CMC’s comments last week, I’m pretty sure that COVID had a great deal to do with that Louisiana game.

We are still -7 in point differential on the season. I'll take ISU on the moneyline, but I won't touch that spread. Campbell doesn't believe in blowouts. He's like Fred was in basketball. Cardiac Clones all the way

You're not going to touch the spread, meaning you expect it to be a relatively close game, but you're good with the moneyline?

Have fun betting $20 to win $8 and sweating for four hours, I guess?

I agree with previous poster that this will be a lot like TCU game last year. Jump out to early lead, they’ll come back to make it a little interesting in the third before we win comfortably in the 4th

Bowman is d2d, bum ankle, his status will be big.

Premsl literally clawed his way out of the grave to play us, and Duggan ripped his chest open to put a new heart in on Friday night before our game...this dudes gonna play
