Now Baylor vs. Houston Postponed

What are the players doing to put themselves at risk of getting it?

Aren't they the ones who were demanding to play?
Catching it is easier than you think. Could have been as simple as a player going into a grocery store grabbing groceries. Even with a mask on. I don’t think some are recognizing how contagious this virus is through the air.

Unless they hung out with someone at the grocery store for 20 minutes.

I'm going to guess it was either in class or something they weren't supposed to be doing.

Not to defend Baylor, but it sounds like nobody actually tested positive.

If he thinks wearing a mask and popping into the grocery store is a potential super-spreader problem, then the entire social distancing / wear a mask thing all the health orgs are preaching is junk science then, right?

Contact tracing is a large part of the issue for football programs.

NORMAN — OU football coach Lincoln Riley said Tuesday that a "high majority" of players held out for contact tracing never wound up testing positive for COVID-19.
According to guidelines currently in place, players who have "high-risk" contact with a person who has tested positive are subject to a 14-day quarantine.
"And then can come back and hit on another contact trace and all of the sudden, that's 28 days," Riley said. "I mean, gone. That has been difficult because not only do you do that, but then those guys obviously haven't got the virus and haven't built up any type of immunity, so they're still susceptible to hitting on a contact trace or the virus."
Most of the players who have been held out due to contact tracing are players whose roommates have tested positive.

Yeah, Lincoln, about that. So...where that one roommate get it from? What were they doing they weren’t supposed to?

And this is where the Big10 testing will be an advantage. With the quick turnaround and constant tests, you can probably reduce the time sidelined for contact. Will be interesting if this will be tweaked to allow for multiple negative tests to come back.

Except for the fact that a positive test means you’re out for 21 days.

Well no **** but if you're going to demand to play, wouldn't there be something you need to do first on your own end?

As a 20-year old athlete with testosterone coursing through your veins and a bullet-proof mentality? The next time you find a 20 year old with a consistent thought and the big picture firmly in his/her mine it will be a medical miracle.

These are all still just kids with scientifically proven abilities to have poor judgement at times.
