What single person can't go 20 days on $1200 bucks. They are doing something wrong... even living in LA or something that should last some time. $1200 here would buy about 2 months rent. Probably a full months living expenses.

Got a “you’re welcome” letter in the mail with Fat Don’s signature on it today... I’m guessing this is so all us plebs with direct deposit would know who the money came from?
I checked the status on the web page that is linked in the first post of this thread.how did you find that out
So my dad passed away in June 2018. I filed his 2018 tax return and marked it as deceased and signed it as the executor.
Today I received his stimulus check made out to:
Pay to the order of: T____ H Schroeder DECD
Curtis Schroeder
I am really tempted to sign and deposit it since my name is on the check.
What is preventing me from doing this is the envelope that a box to check and remail if the recipient is deceased with a warning "Forgery of endorsements on Treasury checks is a Federal crime. Maximum penalty is a $10,000 fine and ten years imprisonment".
Technically I wouldn't be forging it since I am on the check and can endorse it. And they obviously know my dad is deceased since they have "deceased" right on the check".
I need some of that world famous legal advice

I’m not an attorney but endorsing a check that is payable to yourself is most definitely not forgery. So my dad passed away in June 2018. I filed his 2018 tax return and marked it as deceased and signed it as the executor.

1. Depends when you filed and if the return was fully processed.Received my direct deposit this morning but was less than expected. Looks like they went off our 2018 and not 2019 tax returns.
