NFL: ***2020 NFL Draft Thread***

I have been doing mock drafts for a long time and do two every year - one with no trades and one with. I predict the picks correctly just as well as any of the experts, and I put in hundreds of hours scouting players and all that. So I want to throw out a crazy trade scenario.....

First off... The Chargers jump up to #4 and take Justin Herbert. The Dolphins surprise everyone and pass on Tua. Instead, they trade pick #5 and a late 3rd round pick to Jacksonville for pick #9 and a 2021 1st round pick. The plan is to have the ammunition to trade up for Trevor Lawrence in next year's draft. So in the meantime, they focus on building an o-line and getting weapons for when Lawrence arrives next year. They select Mekhi Becton with pick #9, Cesar Ruiz with pick # 18, Justin Jefferson with pick #26 and D'Andre Swift with pick #39. They added some solid defensive players in free agency so they can focus on offense in the draft. With their other 2nd round pick, I have them taking Grant Delpit, and then it's back to adding offensive players in round 3.

I have the Vikings taking Ruggs with pick #22 after Philly passes on him to take Kenneth Murray, and then I have Minnesota taking DE Yetur Gross-Matos at pick 25.
Hundreds of hours? Jesus. You should post the whole thing

We really need new leadership...

That looks like me during my fantasy football draft. Except I usually bring 2 bottles of lotion.

He'll probably be alright. It's just kind of funny to see each GM's approach to what amounts to a somewhat complex conference call. You've got GMs with the IT guys parked in a Winnebago outside their house, guys knocking out walls in their house to create infrastucture, 6+ screen setups, and hunkered down in their basement or attic. Pretty easy to tell who's really embracing tech and who isn't.

If Kinlaw is there at 22, you say thank you to your higher power and draft him as quickly as you can....

Agree that if he's there, Kinlaw would be the best available. But Trader Rick usually drafts need first, so I see him going WR, CB, and T in the first two rounds. Who knows, that's what makes it fun.

Going to be quite a scene with GMs drafting from their homes. Here's what John Lynch's home war room looks like...

Put a CF logo on these and this is Twins office!

Meanwhile, San Francisco went to the Super Bowl last year, while the Giants...

If Kinlaw is there at 22, you say thank you to your higher power and draft him as quickly as you can. I don't see any way he lasts that long. The guy is a disruptor. He'd be great on the interior and could move around a lot. I think he's going to be one of the absolute steals in this draft.

If Miami offered 26 and 56 or 70 and a 7th for 22. I'd pass on Kinlaw. We've got a great DT already. I'd rather have 6 picks (currently have 5) in the top 105 than Kinlaw at 22.

No chance ruggs drops to 22 unless he gets caught smoking a blunt beforehand.

My Packers need a WR weapon for Rodgers to go along with Adams and Lazard. Either that or a OT to replace Bulaga.

If they go QB in rd 1 like some have said.... I give up.

They have a 2-3 year window to possibly win another Super Bowl with Rodgers. They need to go all out and surround him with weapons NOW!
Given how average Rodgers has been the last 3 years they'd be right to look for an upgrade.

What are you thinking they do tonight? Tua, Herbert or neither?

I know they've tried to deal with the Bungholes for Burrow, but they are staying pat. I think they try and move up yet to go with Herbert. I like Tua but dang the guy is made of glass almost.

Who is the great DT already on the roster? With Joseph gone, there's potential, but nobody I would call great. Pierce could be a good addition. He's probably the most proven, but he didn't have a great year last year.

I'm betting that San Fran will end up dealing one of their first rounders. Word is they've been listening to multiple suitors.

If Queen or Murray are available, or close enough for Gutekunst to move up and grab them, my day would be made. Packers need some impact at ILB in the worst way.

Madden gives Pierce a 91 and Linval an 86. PFF numbers for 2019 were about the same. Pierce is also 4 years younger. Vikings have one of the best D-line coaches in the league too. I trust their development of middle to late round guys over taking mid to late offensive lineman or corner

I saw a mock this morning that has Miami trading with Detroit for the #3 pick and taking Tua.

Frankly, I don't see that happening. Although I think Patricia is on extremely thin ice, based on the comments made by recent ex-Lions.
