NFL: ***2020 NFL Draft Thread***

Lot of talk about Tua slipping. We'll see if its just smoke another team is putting out there

Think of his past injuries though. I think he is the biggest question mark of the draft. Considering the fact that not a lot of scouts got to see him post injury and doing any type workout for any team due to covid-19.

I believe you. But just admit it, you want to see Wirfs in a NYG uniform. I wouldn't blame you for that. Hard to pass on a sure thing NFL starter at the tackle position. There is no way Wirfs will be a bust. That's huge.
Was Robert Gallery a bust?

He was a bust as the #2 overall pick. Wasn't a bust as a player in general. Started in 103 games out of 104 played over 8 seasons. Part of the problem was being drafted by the dumpster fire that was Oakland. I'm hoping Wirfs doesn't end up in Miami.

At least with drunk drivers like Wirfs getting drafted and Pemsl transfering, the roadways in Iowa City will be much more safe.

I think Miami is turning it around. There is definitely a lot worse spots he could land.

I'm hoping the Vikes go Jefferson, Terrel, and Jackson in the first two rounds.
Also hoping Lima, Spears, Jones and Knipfel have a shot a being late rounders.

I don't think Iowa State will have any players drafted this year. Since none of those guys you mentioned got a combine invite and their pro day on campus was scrapped, they had virtually no chance to make an impression beyond what they've put on tape. I do expect all of them to be signed after the draft, though. And I think Lima and Johnson both have a really good chance at sticking on an active roster or practice squad.

Javon Kinlaw, Josh Jones, AJ Terrell and Justin Jefferson. One of those 4 players will be the pick for Minnesota at 22.

Ideally we can trade out of the spot for another Round 2 or early round 3 pick. Maybe someone wants to take Jordan Love before The Patriots are on the clock. Teams that could trade up to 22 for a QB: Miami at 26 if they don't get Tua, Titans at 29 since the Tannehill contract gets cheap to dump after 2021, Colts at 34, Chargers at 37 if they miss on Tua or Herbert at 6, Carolina at 38, Jacksonville at 42

Then at 25 we take 1 of those 4 players who are left.

I think you'd rather root for him to not end up in Cleveland. They're as dysfunctional as ever.
Miami actually seems to have a plan in place, although it's critical that they nail this draft. The easy part is acquiring all those picks. The tricky part is using those picks wisely. I've read/heard some chatter that they might be looking to trade up to make sure they get their guy at QB, and I think that'd be a mistake. Stay put at five and bank on the first four off the board being Burrow, Young, Okudah, and one of the left tackles. Herbert or Tua will be there at five if that's their guy. I bet the Lions would love to trade down out of that three spot but I don't know if they'll have any takers.

I'll be surprised if the Colts stay at 34. I expect them to trade back at least once in the second round, and there's a decent chance they move back again depending on how things unfold. Ballard loves his draft picks.

Going to be quite a scene with GMs drafting from their homes. Here's what John Lynch's home war room looks like...

Seems like overkill. And on the other end of the spectrum, you have Dave Gettleman. A laptop, a thick-ass binder, a post-it that you probably have all your passwords written on, and, um...a bottle of lotion? The Giants are gonna crush this draft.

We really need new leadership...

That looks like me during my fantasy football draft. Except I usually bring 2 bottles of lotion.

If Kinlaw is there at 22, you say thank you to your higher power and draft him as quickly as you can. I don't see any way he lasts that long. The guy is a disruptor. He'd be great on the interior and could move around a lot. I think he's going to be one of the absolute steals in this draft.
