Not that my opinion matters much, but I watched Gomez play a couple times this year in CSUN games (I like gambling on mid-major hoops), and he is legit. Tough as nails and can make challenged jumpers. I absolutely think he would have started for ISU this year, and I would project him to be a 12-15 ppg guy next year if he comes here. Admittedly, I didn't pay as close of attention to his individual defense, but it didn't stand out as absymal in the couple games I saw. Plus, there is usually one guard who can be hidden guarding a "shooter" or lesser offensive threat on the other team. Under the assumption of a Gomez-Jackson-Bolton starting lineup, I assume Jackson guards the best perimeter player, then Bolton, then Gomez. Would love to add him to the team. Just thought I'd share since I watched a couple full games and saw more than highlights.
That is a short backcourt.

I'd be surprised if a freshman foster is a good defender

I'm not expecting all B12 or anything but the potential of having 2 7 footers with long arms and athleticism who can move along with the longer wings pressuring could be an at least the same level if not an upgrade over Young and Jacobsen of last year. Both players worked hard but just physically don't have the ceiling of XF and GC could reach.

I don't think Foster and Conditt will be on the floor together very much, if at all.

Obviously I wouldn’t ask if I knew Coach Prohm was actively recruiting him..... common sense not so common with you I guess.
See that little magnifying glass at the top of the page? Common sense would say type DJ Carton in there and see what happens. But you already knew that because you're just so full of common sense.

I think it would take some pretty extenuating circumstances to play all 3 at once. But there is definitely room in the rotation for an undersized sniper.
Oh I agree that I would take him I just do not think you play all 3 at once. One of them comes off the bench.

38.2% for Bolton and 37.9% for Jackson in conference play. After they hit their stride against better competition they were just fine. I'd expect that to continue.

We will see. There were lots of people that thought TLew was the answer because he played well down the stretch of his freshmen year. I’m not nearly as sold on Jackson as others. In 12 of his 19 Big 12 games he scored 6 or less points. In 4 of his Big 12 games he made 14 3 pointers. In the other 15 Big 12 games he made 8 total 3 pointers. Long ways to go before I call him a dependable 3 point threat.

Jackson should be a nice piece off the bench next year. Gomez is better IMO

You make a list like that and don't have Tiny Archibald?
You're also making quite the time frame, Calvin Murphy is 71 years old.

Well, Archibald is 6'1". And if I would have added Tiny, you would have complained that he too is-- 71.

I understand that you can only add the talent that you can sign. However, what is the identity of the basketball program and are we consistently recruiting to that identity?

Well, think of the identities of the bluebloods:

Kentucky - One and done
Duke - 14 Mcd AA's
North Carolina - Someone else takes your tests for you
Louisville - Strippers
Kansas - Adidas money brings in the talent
Gonzaga - Nobody knows any of your players
