So if by some unfathomable miracle iowa state wins the big 12 tournament what seed would they be?

2008 Syracuse was a 14 seed and probably the best comp. The incredible thing is that ISU would likely not be in the First Four since there will be four lower-seeded auto-bids.

Kudos to those that go to KC this year. I know for many it's a tradition....and if we run the table, y'all will be the few that see it! :)

It’ll be a miracle if we just beat OSU.

OSU would need to forget how they've been playing lately including yesterday at what I thought was a revived Texas team.

They may have played themselves in to the NIT.

My wife and I took a trip to Florida since we knew we weren’t going to spend the money for 3 days in KC, glass half full?

That team is going to be Sutton esque next year, with Cade Cunningham coming in. This league is trending up which is not going to help Prohm and the boys next season.

14 is what came to mind for me, too. You have the correct year, but it was Georgia, not 'Cuse.

Ga was 17-16 after winning the auto bid. I don't think a P5 with a losing record ever won its conference tournament. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

My bad, good catch.

18 teams with losing records have made the tourney, and another 6 with .500 records. None from power conferences, and no one won a game. All but one were a 16-seed. https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketbal...madness-history-teams-worst-records-make-ncaa

Time to make history.

No problem. You nailed the year (I couldn't remember when it occurred, only that it was sometime in the mid- to late-'0ss.).

I knew quite a few teams had gotten in at sub-.500s, didn't realize it was that many.

I'm curious how many of those took bids from top seeds with exceptional regular season records (relative to its conference).
