If we hire Craig Smith, TJ or Nagy it could work. There was legitimate interest from Altman in 2015. That was the chance we had at aHC with P5 experience. But the price tag was a non-starter.

Man...and damn. That would have been a home run hire.

I wish we would have given him a look and pursued him back in 2003 after the LE fiasco. He's a terrific coach.

he needs a mentor type, just don’t think it would be Kennedy. His health problems are too much to expect him to be able to coach.

Truthfully, there may not be an option for him.

He has been a head coach for like a decade. Why does he need a veteran coach on the bench to teach him to coach?

Because what he doing isn’t working.

he needs another voice in his ear.

but go ahead and continue.

More of a leading question. Ice knows the answer.

I get that the entire talking point is prohm bad. But I would actually like to see Iowa State basketball win.

it seems he will be the coach here next year. So since he is the coach of my school, I will root for him to have success

A couple events I'll never forget in th CSP

1. At Iowa there is a scrum on the court and CSP runs out on the court to stop kids from doing whatever.

2. After beating K-State in the big 12 tournament last year the kids are having words and CSP consoles the K State kids and pulls Bruce Weber aside to try and explain somthing and Weber basically says "who cares".

This is the sign and traits of a good man. In coaching at this level you will need to hurt peoples feelings at some point. I don't know if CSP is fit for this level of basketball? I do hope for the best for him he's a great ambassador for ISU.

He hurts the feelings of several posters here all the time.

If only people could be as good of fan as you. Are you even a season ticket holder?

Nice retort. I certainly would be a season ticket holder if I lived anywhere close. I'd love to get to more games live but as it stands I schedule around our current FB and MBB schedule so I can at least watch from wherever I am. Missed ONE game my entire college career, and that included some crappy basketball. So, try again.

For the record, this season has SUCKED for Iowa State fans. Very few things get me as hacked off as a Cyclone loss of any kind. But I won't stop supporting them, watching them, and attending whenever I can.
