I just got an email from a semi familiar name. Wants to know if the bowling party is this weekend............

I finally fully realized who it was, since he usually goes by a nickname, and know he has had a few affairs. I’m now concerned about this “bowling party”.

He isn’t throwing his bowling balls at me no matter what.

Is "Bowling Party" the new "Key Party"

Asking for @jcyclonee

Not having any sports threads to read anymore on CF really cuts down on my CF time. Time to head to the gym, maybe I can post in the fat guy thread later, that one is mostly a safe place. Okay, some diet Nazi's and workout fanatics but still no ones trying to kill each other.

That is just plain scary.

Had to share this here too...because nothing says "Easter" like a golden T-rex wearing bunny ears and carrying a basket full of painted eggs!

I thought that there were several people who were essentially saying if you ever recline your seat at all you are a callous, terrible human being who cares about nobody else and I thought that might have set him off.

That thread is a ridiculous black or white, no gray area thread - kind of like many of the basketball threads.

I actually thought he was trying to get them to realize that by digging in so hard and being so absolutist. Flipping it around on the people complaining that no one thinks of their knees(? still don't get how they're sitting) or space to work.

Tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice. I remember that it was broadcast after the game was played but few people knew the outcome until after the broadcast. The internet would have ruined that one.
Last week was the 50th anniversary of the first Black Sabbath album which is considered the birth of heavy metal.

Steven Spielberg's adopted daughter is applying for her sex worker license in Tennessee (who knew you needed a license?) in order to become an internet porn star

“And I also just got tired of working day to day in a way that wasn’t satisfying my soul.”

Man, her soul is a strange one. I guess it was a toss-up between volunteering at a children's hospital and internet porn.

Each "generation" is supposedly defined by events but how that works is all over the place. I know my mother's family was greatly impacted by the Depression and it's pre-WWII aftermath. My dad, not so much as his dad had a good job with the railroad. My dad never talked politics much, or at all. Reading his WWII letters home though I noted a bunch of rants about big business which he than called "Capital" with a capital C. Talked about strikes back home and Roosevelt etc including a statement to his dad that he'd better stop talking or his dad would think he was a socialist. So, my mom who suffered as a poor family ends up being a died in the wool big biz supporting Republican and my dad, who's family was fine, ends up being a closet socialist.

Peeps think because I am a 1951 baby that Vietnam or something was my influencer. Wrong. My influencer was the original Warner Brother cartoons. Without the cast of Looney Tune characters, the assassinations, Vietnam, the racial strife and Nixon would have made me a total cynic. As it is I am deeply skeptical but not totes cynical. Yet.

The transition from the 60s into the 70s would have made anyone cynical.

My right arm is on fire. The entire circumference of my upper arm is red and swollen (look ma! I have a bicep!!!) and the ache extends down the top of my forearm to my wrist.

Yes I'm whining. :(

But I will now be protected from 23 strains of pneumoccal pneumonia. As someone who's had pnuemonia three times already...I suppose it's a fair trade.

The good news? I get to have the Prv13 version in a year. Yay?

Got round 1 of the shingles vaccine when I went to the doctor a week ago. I'm not sure if it was because of that particular vaccine or because the nurse found it appropriate to pinch all of the flesh on the outside of my upper arm between her fingers while she administered the shot but that thing was sore for about 4 days and inoculations rarely bother me. I have never seen anyone do that when they gave a shot. I'm not a fan. It might have been the vaccine because it did itch a bit for a couple days as well.

My shingles vax made a nice red lumpy itchy raised square about 1.5 inches on a side. Went away after about a week. Second one, no reaction.
