Replacement for Ruhle at Baylor?

Seriously, who was the last Cowboys head coach that Jerry had a good relationship with? Jimmy Johnson? Jerry is a wildly successful and intelligent man yet he's still too stupid to realize that he's 95% of the problem.
No, he didn't get along with JJ. He ran him off because he didn't feel he was getting the credit he deserved. As much as the Cowboys accomplished in the 90s, they could have done more if Jerry wasn't such an a-hole.

He can absolutely win in Carolina. Get the QB position figured out and he can go far with McCaffrey and Kuechly. Plus like I said before and got a little push back, that division is super winnable. Matt Ryan/Atlanta is very bleh, Drew Brees isn't that scary anymore and the Bucs will probably re-sign turnover machine Jameis Winston.

Strong sentiments that they hire from within.

Not about duration, but about how much control he refuses to give up.

But he's competent so I'm not sure it's much different than most NFL jobs. If you look at Garretts tenure, he's had the personnel. Except for jobs where you have all control, I guess I just don't see where Dallas is so bad.

Other than the reports that Jones is in the locker room so much that players just go to him for stuff instead of the coaching staff?

Again, is this a big deal? I don't think that's as abnormal as people think. With very few exceptions, your choices are that or a front office that doesn't care, is incompetent, or some combination of both.

Honestly, I think all the Jerry Jones stuff is just something to keep the Cowboys in the headlines because it sells. He could have fired Garrett about 5 times with justification and he didn't. I just don't think it's a poor situation.

That's exactly the problem with Jones. He wants to make money more than he wants to win. They don't have to be mutually exclusive but he makes it so.

It absolutely is a big deal if you want your head coach to have any ability to control his team. If you don’t give a **** about that sort of thing, sure, it doesn’t matter.

He’s unlikely to go anywhere as much as I hate to say that.

Hope I’m wrong. Baylor has the money to pay him a NFL salary.

It's not really a secret he wants the Giants job

Hope you are right but you rarely are. We will see.

Just opened this thread. I see you are exhibiting your usual prognostication prowess. Granted, he didn't go to the Giants...but he sure as hell bailed on Baylor for the NFL.

Thanks for the laugh!
Carry on...
