You attack people and use weighty, absolutist language. People don’t like that because it’s obnoxious and stifles free conversation.

I stated I was impressed with next year’s class. Swell try though.

I don't think, outside of the Cave that is, that I've ever "attacked" people. Attacking their opinions? Sure, but there's a difference between attacking someone's opinions and attacking them personally. If you can show me where I've done that then I'll apologize. Also, I'm pretty sure I've gotten more "likes" and "agrees" when it comes to what I've written about Prohm in this ongoing dispute, so at least a few people like what I have to write.

You are correct; I was wrong about you disliking next year's class. Thinking more about it in hindsight it was this year's current group of freshmen that you were pretty critical of before the season had even started.

I don't hate Prohm so dont go accusing someone of something you are clueless about. I dont know anybody that has actually said they "hate" him.

What I've been saying for a few years and other people are starting to notice is that him and his coaching staff just aren't getting the results here in relation to the talent level they are bringing in.

jereseib,

Fair enough; "hate" is a strong word, and perhaps I'm incorrect in ascribing it to you. I'll give you that. I will be neither the first or the last person to engage in some hyperbole here on CycloneFanatic.

A couple of questions for you;

1) Did, or did you not, write at some point on here that CSP did something very early on in his tenure, before he even coached his first game at ISU, that caused you to dislike him from the very beginning?

2) Have, or have you not, written on a few occasions that you regard the 2014-15 season, in which we won the Big 12 tournament but then lost a game we had no business losing to #14 seed UAB as being a more successful season than the very next season in which we went to the Sweet 16? And, if that is the case, how can one possibly justify such a strange feeling unless you really don't like the coach?

If I'm wrong on either one or both of these, and if you can find a post from back then to prove yourself right and me wrong, then I'll apologize to you. But I really don't think I'm wrong on these things.

Was there ever a thread created after we lost to UAB titled "This is why Hoiberg must go"? Pretty sure there wasn't, and nor should there have been. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that there is a small but very vocal cadre of Cyclone fans that have had it in for Prohm from the very beginning, whether that's because they belong to the Cult of Fred or for other reasons. Prohm is not infallible, and I've never suggested that he is. But it's hard for me to accept the criticism of him from bad faith actors who have had it in for him from the very start.

1. I never said I disliked him from the beginning. I simply said in June 2015 I heard some culture changes he was trying to implement that I didnt think would be a good fit for the basketball program.

I will also go on the record as saying I didnt think his previous resume at Murray warranted a jump to a job like he got at the time. I clearly remember Pollard saying one of the reasons he got the job was his similarities to Hoiball and that he didnt want to make drastic style changes based on the roster he inherited.

2. Yes, thats corrrect, Ive already discussed this enough on here so there is no point in rehashing that. Hoibergs last season in the grand scheme of things was a more successful season than Prohms first. Prohm's 2nd team was also a more successful team than his first. To answer your question how I can justify this its quite simple, I dont judge the success of a season based of 1 NCAA tournament game.

3. No there weren't threads calling for Hoiberg after the UAB game. Why would there be? We had come off 4 of the most successful years in school history, with alot to be hopeful about for the future. The program is in a completely different state now than it was after the UAB loss.

Your last statement is ridiculous. I havent "had it out for him" from the start, hes had plenty of years to put together a resume. It's a cumulative effect at this point. Ive never even called for him to be fired. I dont have to, if he flames out this year and then we miss the tourney next year without Haliburton he will have plenty of critics at that point.

1) So, I'm genuinely curious, who would you have hired instead?

2) You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but feeling that a 1st round loss to a 14 seed is better than a Sweet 16 season is absolutely insane, regardless of your rationale. And, by that standard, winning the Big 12 tournament and making it back to the NCAA tournament after a down year would be a good season, right?

And your last statement is absolutely ridiculous and complete b*llshit; you were absolutely screaming for his head after the home loss to Kansas State last season. I think your exact words were "I want him gone!!!!!!" or something pretty close to that.

Rece is a great player and will likely be a lottery pick, but he’s not going to go down as an all-time great.

If he does end up being a lottery pick whenever he decides to leave, he'll be in very rare company at ISU. I think the number of lottery picks out of ISU can be counted on one hand at this point. How would he not be an all-time great?

I view “all-time greats” as guys who have their numbers hanging from the rafters.

If you use the criteria of what he accomplished at ISU by itself instead of factoring in what he may do in a pro career.
