Went to the courthouse to renew moms car license. They asked me the plate number, I said no clue. Then she seriously asked me if I knew her name. I told her moms name. Then she asked if she was still at such and such address, I said the car is.
I'm sorry. That probably hurt a little bit.

Yup. You should have come over and said hello.
I should have but I didn't put it together right away and by the time my not-so-nimble mind processed it, you must have been gone or working in the kitchen or something.

Generally, just seeing an ISU shirt will prompt me to say Go Cyclones but we were busy talking to the ticket table people. I didn't realize that we would know so many people there. Two of the people had been at the 80s cover band the night before at the same place as us. They said that they left after two songs. We stayed until the end and my wife got hit in the head by a flying drum stick.

Apparently you're not supposed to say the word 'straight' in any context because it's offensive to people who are not straight, I don't know...

When I was in college (roughly 213 years ago), when someone would say - for example, if giving directions - "go straight", someone else would invariably retort "Go forward! Never go straight!"

This was, of course, in reference to a certain item often smoked in dorm rooms and whatnot that resembled oregano.

Seriously, how unpopular does a guy have to be to get ignored while trying to give folks potential inheritance? Updating beneficiaries for 401K (form/signatures/info = pain in the ass). Asked sis for nieces S.S. #'s, haven't heard back. Asked a non-profit for a their tax I.D. # and POC. Haven't heard back.

Off the go run on the track. Nothing updated. If I drop dead they lose.

We had to eat and run. Daughter had an evening class she had to be to by 1800.

Maybe you can look out for me at a meet or something. We are trying to convince her to race on Wednesday but she feels like she isn't ready to race. We keep telling her to just try, it doesn't matter. I'll be the guy all bundled up if she does race.

We should probably go to one to see the boyfriend race. I'd guess my daughter will almost certainly be there if she can. It sounds like they'll probably make state so we would probably go to that.

We're dealing with similar things with our youngest daughter and tennis. She doesn't want to go to these different training sessions. When she does go she enjoys it, but getting her to go the first time is tough.

If you really need a number quickly, I'll give you mine. Just bring the form and I'll write it in, initial it, take a picture with it and you, scan and fax it to myself and a few close friends, and give it to you to file.

That's straight up ridiculous.
I'm with chaser, I don't think it happened. And if it did, it was most likely tongue-in-cheek. I didn't go to Grinnell, but I went to a small liberal arts college and now the type of person who they're claiming would say something like that, and they wouldn't. That's just not something that anyways says/does. Plus, it's a little too "on the nose." It just fits into that liberal arts student stereotype a little too well.

People suck. Just a little thing but reaffirms my general lack of faith in human nature. Was at LifeTime last Friday and forgot to pack up my trusty old Speedo pool/shower sandals. Of course, didn't notice till at club today. Checked lost and found, nope. Finders keepers. Kinda distinctive looking ones, hope i don't see some guy wearing them, "Hey, cool slips, man, size 9?" Joins my really nice sunglasses left for a moment at Bachman's nursery, my clothes stolen while I played racquetball at a Lutheran seminary, more gym cloths, tennis shoes*, one wallet, a credit card left at a bar and countless other little items. It's a minor miracle I have not lost a cell phone (yet). If I didn't lock up my bike when taking a 90 second pee stop it'd be gone in a flash.

* Seriously, WTF is up with stealing someones sweaty running shoes?
You sure they didn't just get tossed? I was a custodian for 4 years and just tossed things usually.
