Some thoughts on the bowl destination...

I don't think that matters all that much.
It kind of does though. Especially when JP can advertise they sold out of their allotment in 2 days and is requesting more tickets to sell. Yeah, the bowl reps will see the colors in the stands regardless of where you buy a ticket. But buying through the AD directly helps ISU.

Great bowl for ISU and it's fans.

Unfortunately horrible personally for me. I have to work that day, so not only can't go, won't even be able to watch on TV. Too many people in our office gone that day already.

Repeating my post from the bowl predictions thread, to admit my cynicism here was premature: "... Well, I was wrong -- I was convinced it was Liberty, even as rumors began to swell. Can't really blame me (and others of my ilk), trying to avoid a letdown. :)"

Every year we get placed up against a team that is higher ranked than us. I think that speaks volumes for our coaches, players, our reputation and fanbase. Makes it tough on our players and coaches because every bowl game we will be the underdog. But it makes winning all the more enjoyable and puts us in better bowls, better locations, better chance to score the upset and prove yourself to be better than everyone thought. I'll take this anyday over going to some lesser bowl where we are a 7 point favorite, you win by three and the whole country yawns as they see the score scroll across on ESPN. Well done Cyclones!

It would suck to work somewhere in which they don't let you take vacation because others are already taking vacation.

I went to the camping world bowl last year (west virginia sucked). the parking passes are nice and there is a big fan area outside the stadium. Parking was in a high school lot for my pass. Downtown is also a fun place to be.

I wonder if the bowls speculate on next season potential also. ISU should be looking good going into next season and if they can finally break through and make the Big 12 championship game, that looks good for the bowl that had them this year.

Especially on Saturday.

I thought for some stupid reason it was on Friday, so I'm good for TV.

We have 4 people in our office, and at least one of us has to be there M-F 8-4. So on holidays we all have to try to work it out. The entire company does have Christmas Eve Day (Tues), and Christmas Day (Weds) off, so I was lucky enough to get Monday off, but I do have to be there on Thurs and Fri. Compromise.

I gambled on the chance of the Cheez-it Bowl, and will be in Tempe with Dad for the week. Oh well, he’s almost 90, and is the priority.

And unlike last year, I won’t be at Sky Harbor as the game starts. I can actually watch it with him.

Under the circumstances, it doesn’t get much better than that!
