Ok. I wish there was a way to express my derision as mockingly as I feel as I type this.

Dude...if you watched this game and don’t feel major disappointment and genuine concern, you either 100%, absolutely know we tried to play this way (you explain to me “why”) or we have a REALLY LONG way to go.

Either way, learn to express yourself with contextual conversation or keep being a commercial the rest of your life.

I will type this as mockingly as you wish you apparently could.

This is not that complicated. Uni is always talented. They always hit hard. They coach and play this game with a chip on their shoulder. This is always a Knute Rockne game for Farley, and their qb was scrappy and made plays. This isn’t like playing eastern Washington, a lot of these kids are from Iowa, frankly most grew up hawk fans, and this is important to them.

That you’re panicked about what a bunch of kids do in the first game of the season, is really shortsighted, and silly. Again, this is the first time in 40 years there were any expectations for the team coming into the season. A tough first game doesn’t change what these coaches are, and what they have done over the past 3 years here.

If it’s that bad for you, then don’t watch. I cannot fathom a situation where I would willingly choose to do something that makes me so miserable. I don’t get why anyone would. Regardless of outcomes, it’s a great day when Saturday during college football season rolls around. I want my team to win more than anything.

But I also know that Conner didn’t miss that kick on purpose, and didn’t deserve the ****** comment another guy made about him. I know that the o line is working on being better. I know the coaches are working on being better. I know everyone will get better between now and the Iowa game. I know that we will play hard as hell against them. That’s what I expect and all I can ask

No designed QB runs. Only one scramble where he did the Purdy things we all love. Got going throwing the ball down the sidelines then got away from it. I don’t really get the play calling.

That ******* pass on 4th and one while the running game was rolling was the opposite of winning football. Not just a pass, but a horrible spot for it.

As I said in the game thread and @FinalFourCy agreed with CMC’s “KFish” (for lack of a better comparable) game management tendencies are worrisome at times. We can’t afford to play that game imo.

I don't mind the pace and controlled aspect but there needs to be an aggressiveness too.

KSU didn't get into track meets under Snyder but knew when and how to strike.

CMC mentioned in the post game press conference that they've been wanting Brock to be patient and step up in the pocket and not take off running, and that he did a good job of that today.

That's BS though IMO. Maybe that's what they've been wanting, but he didn't do a great job of stepping up in the pocket IMO. He was backing up and throwing off his back foot a lot instead of stepping up.

Three things:

No deep balls. I don't care if Butler is not here you can go long. I think there was one pass of about 20 yards but it was horrible, wobbly and wildy inaccurate. Reminded me of a Paul Rhoads coached QB.

Rewatch the game and look at most of Purdy's throws. His motion looked awful, seemed pretty different from last year.

No carries for Purdy. He had 2 'carries' but they were actually sacked for those. The Purdy TD that was called back, he was EXTREMELY hesitant to run on that play, almost scared.

Maybe I am crazy but maybe I am seeing something.
HIS fumble recovery won the ball game. Stole away, aka Joel Lanning, against OU in 2017.

They went conservative this game and I’m scared CMC does it against the hoks too. I know it’s non con games but sometimes I think they want to keep a more complex offense for Big 12 play.
No, no, no. The reason the play calling was conservative is that we have a bye next week and so Iowa will only have a small portion of what our playbook looks like. It's a smart move, but it almost bit us in the arse. We will see Brock scramble and throw the deep ball against Iowa, trust me.

Maybe it’s because the coaches wanted their RB’s to do all the running to figure out what they have at that position. It was one of the biggest question marks of the year along with the O-line.

Maybe it was a coaching decision that Purdy hand the ball off so they could see where on their line is the strongest and which RB’s show potential in certain down, distance, formations etc

Man, I really want this to be true. But I’ll believe it when I see it.

There is not showing your hand and there was what happened today. With that D you can go out and take a few chances on 4th and 1 at mid field. Its almost like they wanted this teams back against the wall all day to see how they would react.

If the staff is not willing to let Purdy run the ball, we are not going to be the team we all think we have record wise. Last year he stopped running the ball the last 3 or 4 games and that is when we started to struggle putting points on the board, like we were doing the first 3 games after Purdy took over.
The DE's was not even thinking about Purdy on the running plays, just crashed down to take away the run.
Injuries are part of the game, and Purdy will be fine, he needs to run the ball.

Do you remember in the liberty bowl, after that terrible fumble call in the end zone, Campbell telling his defense he hoped it was a fumble so they’d have to get the stop to win the game?

That was the game after they let k state drive the length of the field to score on the last play.

He wanted them to grow from it. They did.

Let’s see what this team does with it.

There were a lot of wierd happenings that ended what should have been TD drives. The helmet play was dumb and it would have been first and goal.... so many bad luck calls and bounces ....
