Pretty sure in Urbandale, more than five minutes of constant barking is grounds for a call.

Definitely

Also. I had to use U.D and learned what dirty coke means. I had to avoid laughing out loud when I read it. Who comes up with this stuff?
Well, I had to look it up

I left my stupid phone at home so I have to go back. They have the stupid logon verification crap go through our phone. Can't log onto a server without it.

This is the biggest concern for my fiancé and I during our house hunt. Our German Shepard puppy is still struggling with separation anxiety, and we both leave early for work.

Woah Mr. Federale is engaged!

Definitely call the animal control which you can do anonymously.

I was curious, so I went looking to see who got the job at this college who was looking for someone who studied reform movements, and had an ad nearly tailor-made for me.

After I hadn't heard from them for a couple months, I saw that they hire almost solely from the Ivy League, like about everyone does right now.

Dude they hired got his degree at Harvard in 2016, then went wild publishing articles and doing conferences everywhere during a 3 year postdoc at Boston, and his dissertation is under contract to be a book soon.

I can see why I never heard back. That was a no contest again.
Back in the day, his CV was a mid-career person. Now it's just a well-funded Ivy thing.

Just saw a story headlining that Todd and Julie Chrisley were in custody for tax evasion and fraud. Had to Google, I had no idea who they were.

My guess of TV evangelists was wrong but not by a lot.

I've seen ads for this show. How the heck do these people end up on TV and what makes someone watch them?

From what I can tell it's a closeted gay man living in the south with a family

I don't understand people that get a dog and then just leave it out all day like that. What's the purpose? Another reason why I don't have pets. I'm not home enough and it isn't fair to any pet to just leave it alone constantly.

I grew up with dogs. Love dogs. Wife wants one. Daughter wants one. I'd love one.

We are just not home long enough to be good dog owners. I can't do it to a dog.

That's a huge part of pet ownership. You have to be settled enough to be a good pet owner. Especially dogs. They are like a child that never grows up.

Our Dalmatian had/has issues with separation anxiety. Just have to keep working on leaving them, it will get better. Worst case? Just get it a companion like we did.

That’s pretty much our plan. I’ve been on a TDY for 75 days with two weeks to go, trainer said that probably is playing a part in his anxiety, will ramp up the work when I get home. He has been doing doggy daycare, and we are looking at keeping that going.

I floated the idea last night of getting another dog in 2-3 years. Swiss Shepard hopefully.

Parenting win - we moved up classrooms at daycare and will miss LM's main infant teacher. I stopped back in to say hi (and sometimes LM is back in there end of day because they combine rooms as kids leave) and she's like I miss LM, miss his "energy" (lololol) and then was like hey if you need a babysitter, I'd love to! Then gave me her number.

I had wanted to ask but wasn't sure how because there's a thing in the daycare contract about not using them as sitters but she said it's only for when they're in the same room. So yay! Then yesterday DH said the other infant teacher mentioned that this one had said DH and I need to go on a date night so she can watch LM........she must really want to see him more! So I'm pretty excited that we have access to a great babysitter who LM loves and wants to see him!

same - friends keep asking (well, slowed down now that we had a baby) why we don't have/when we'll get a pet. I'm like we're gone most of the day, a cat would maybe love it but I don't think a dog would.

Our daughter's daycare teacher offered to babysit for our daughter, too. We only used her once due to our situation, but it was nice knowing she was an option. I'm pretty sure most daycare teachers are woefully underpaid.

We had a couple that I wasn't fond of, but we were fortunate to have some really good daycare teachers. They had her potty trained in a couple weeks and also had her finished with the kindergarten curriculum before she ever went to kindergarten. Right before we left, they changed directors and had a mass exodus with staff. We got lucky to avoid that turmoil.
