hey I didn't tell you guys today (last night's) fun baby story. FYI, I've been like solo mom all week cause DH is doing beer stuff most nights. I'm the best wife.
I gave little man a bath last night and after I let the water out, I went to put his diaper in the pail and left the room for literally 5 seconds. I left and he was happily smashing cups together. I came back and he had pulled himself to standing, was enthusiastically peeing and splashing his hand in the stream. Bouncing and getting pee all over himself and the tub. Oh and he had closed the bath drain (he loves doing that) so the pee was now collecting all over his toys.
He looked SO happy. If he could have talked, he would have said Mom! you got rid of all my water but LOOK I FOUND MY OWN!!!
So he got a second good rinse while I laughed.

that does seem fast though, man. Where does time go.
after 10pm (ok, maybe earlier but the News is about all I see on non PBS tv) we get a bunch of ads for a golf course group in Alabama talking about their great golfcourses
but like why????? Alabama golf courses? Advertising up here? After 10pm? Trying to catch their target demo up for their midnight bathroom visit?

My phone updated last night. Do not like it. Want old phone back. May actually get more done at work now.
Helped a guy clean up his flood damaged tent. 35 x 70 that was buried in mud. 10:30 - 3:00. Bought some beer, should have bought lunch
Put the last plants in the beds (at least for now; Menard's has their grand opening on Tuesday). Sprayed another round of deer repellent because the last round has washed off and I lost tips off of 5 asiatic lilies. Weeded the rhubarb.
My back and knees say "WE'RE DONE NOW!!!".
Need a good shower, then need to make some cheesecake for Sunday dinner tomorrow.
Leftover Chinese take-out for supper...whole lotta grazing going on...

First shower in 36+ hours finished. Extremely sore...sure it will be the same tomorrow. But, we're here. Lots of stuff to still do. Gotta get the kitchen set up. And, we get to play "Where is that packed away?" (The panic I had on my face, trying to remember where my husband's toiletries were)

Z looked at these Spider-Man walkie-talkies for months, maybe even a year, and she was cool with the "maybe next time."
This time, she looked at them and put them in our cart, so I thought "sure."
Worked today, but every regular day since is constant radio contact, including supervisory things like "no bounce on the bed"---she stops, and apparently very detailed talk through the potty process. "I'm flushing the toilet. I'm washing my hands."
The Signal Corpsman in me thinks it's too much radio chatter, but our OPSEC requirements are pretty minimal here, and it's pretty fun.

Oregon connection, popped a bottle of Witness Tree Oregon pinot noir for a couple of friends who took me bird watching in Wisconsin today. After they went home I worked on some leftovers, a French Rhone blend and some Cedar Crest Mackinac Island Fudge ice cream. And grilled a steak.
And totes loved Roman Holiday. Also loved the fact friends picked a couple wood ticks each off themselves and i didn't get any (I think).
