The four days preceding the episodes are a wash. The night after the episode and next day or so are usually pretty good; there are details that people miss - very informative details.
Like KC said, it's usually decent right after the episode airs. Some people may point out something that they didn't care for, but it's normally pretty good. Someone's critique won't change my mind after the fact regardless.
I gloss over some of the predictions, but haven't put stock in any of them. There was a fairly in-depth spoiler that was put in there last week that was completely off. I'm pretty convinced that outside of the cast and crew, nobody really knows how it's going to end and any "inside info" is a bunch of crap anyway.
After the show surpassed the books, we're all in the same boat. That has kept some of the smugness out of there.
I shaved my beard Friday after having it for a year and a half. At my daughter's soccer game, I walked up to one of the other dads (who'd only ever seen me with a beard) and started talking to him. During our strangely odd conversation, my wife walked up to me. Then he goes, "Oh hell, I didn't even recognize you until your wife walked up."
It wasn't like I had some Grizzly Adams beard. It was always fairly manicured. I never knew I had an incognito mode.
I can only assume that's what Clark Kent goes through when he takes off his glasses.

I'm pretty sure that I will always separate M&Ms by color when I eat them
I eat them two at a time. I always pair up the red and yellow for ISU and eat them last. Then it’s green and yellow for HS and Green Bay. Always eat brown/black looking ones first to eliminate any Hawkeye type ones.
Mrs. Velo has never seen me without the beard. I think I've had it continuously for about three decades although it has been pretty fricken short for some RAGBRAIs.
And Clark Kent should have used some Elton John star glasses or something like that. Distract attention from the face to the glasses so they don't figure out that you are the single most famous person on the planet.
Finger printing was a let down. I was expecting nasty black fingers that were impossible to scrub clean. Nope, red ink that they bake and turn black. Fingers seem fine.
She asked if I had warm hands because they work better. Had running pants on so I just shoved them down my pants while I waited to fill docs out. Figured my junk would make them warm.

Son just told me they switched back to stem. It was stem, what we all know STEM stands for. Then it became STEAM. Somebody thought Art fit in with the rest. Then somebody realized one isn’t like the others and we are back to STEM.
@jcyclonee when you are done going from house to house on your swingers tour and get rested up, what are you guys doing to your house for graduation? We put that wood plank stuff down in our kitchen, dining, and laundry/storage rooms. Now it makes the living room carpet look poorer. Gonna get nailed for that soon I feel.
Bars getting shut down reminded me of a place in a neighboring town that was shut down.
Used to be an old bar/strip joint in town named Tom and Jerrys (not actual but I'm going with this). One time this girl tried to come up with something new, so she thought she had this great idea for the slow night. She covered herself in whip cream and came out on stage. Tom and Jerry were both there and thought it was a great idea. You had to pay 5 bucks to take a lick of whipped cream.
Cops were making their rounds and at that time Tom and Jerry were getting some whipped cream. Cop came in and arrested Jerry but left Tom alone. When it was all said and done, it turned out that Tom had a liquor license and not Jerry.
