Welp.... younger days was teammate and friends w/ Hoiberg twins. Chasing Fred’s legacy mentioned in articles last fall. We really did all know this was coming. Obviously no throwing in the towel yet on him coming to ISU, but let’s just say we would hope the young man will be honest w/CSP throughout the process ‘if’ he’s heartset on playing for FH. Not drag CSP along. Last thing ISU fans need is another Barnes scenario. On a side note, we wouldn’t have any guarantee he would stay home anyway, even if FH wasn’t back in the college game.

Fred has to do what Fred has to do but he is sliding fast down the ladder or Cyclone all time favorites. It lipsey ends up a top ten recruit and goes to Nebraska. Fred will officially be very disliked by clone fans
Reading this thread makes me realize that people thought he wouldn’t offer. Why wouldn’t he?

Yeah, If this upsets you then you are in for a rough 3-5 years. ISU is a couple levels above Nebraska, the program speaks for itself.

Zero percent chance this kid goes to Nebraska or ISU. The day Duke offers him is the day he commits
That might seem logical now, but he may not commit anywhere for at least 2 1/2 years... so who knows how good ISU & Nebr will be by then.
I thought the same thing, fine go coach at Nebby Fred. Guy wants to coach and we didn't have an opening. I still said, I guess Georges just went into my number 1 spot for all time Cyclones and Fred at 2. Now I'm also thinking, **** off Fred!
Same reason Roy Williams is hated for plucking kids out of our state. Every high profile recruit he has got from Iowa people hate him for it. If Fred quits the Iowa State job, The ends up at one of the most hated schools by every by Cyclone fan, Then gets a kid from Ames that is a top ten recruit. Yeah he will be seriously dislike. It's almost like a WWE chair shot move. Like when the good guy suddenly smashes another good guy with a chair and becomes a bad guy.

It's about time we all just admit it. Fred is a stupid name. Was he born in the 40's or something?
Seems strange that Fred would offer a kid that he won't even be around to coach.
It would be nice if Prohm won this one and Xavier Foster as well. It would go a long way in peoples eyes I feel like.
Fred won't be there when the kid goes to college. Also the draft rules will be different by then if the kid is that good and in the top 20 players he will just go pro.
