Avery Johnson is a terrible coach. They have never given two ***** about basketball.

It is a sleeping giant that could be awoken because auburn has won some games.

Johnson has not been the coach for the last 8 years, so I guess we don't know why they weren't successful for the prior 4.

If you admit they are a sleeping giant your acknowledging? that is not a better job right now. There are a lot of things that have to happen before that is the case, and if were playing the potential game that statement could apply to almost any power 5 job.

If that's the case why hasn't Alabama been in the tournament 7 of the last 8 years? If we're going of finance do you also think Iowa Basketball is a better job?

There is so much more that goes into making a coaching position a good job in basketball.

I got this!
They didn't have Fred build their program.

If they've never given two ***** about basketball, then it's not a sleeping giant.

It doesn't matter how much money you throw at a program, it is not a guarantee of future success. Look at Texas basketball. They have a ton of money, have gone after successful coaches, and have access to fantastic recruiting grounds. They are still mediocre at best at basketball and will probably be after a new coach soon.

I realize you are just being a **** to people and trolling about people complaining about Prohm, but this is a truly stupid argument.

Saying someone should be here next year is pretty damning praise.

Context. He claimed i spent the whole year ranting on the guy. I didnt. When i had criticism, i often paired it with a statement of 'not calling for his job or anything but /insert criticism here/'

He's human. He has failings. Overall though he's still a solid coach whose top 25 and top 10 win % will have him here for a long time if he keeps it up, given he's among the best ever in those categories at the moment.

Of course it is.

And we'll end up with a god damned low major coach that will probably jump at the first job in ******* Wisconsin ;)

Yeah I like TJ and if he’s the coach Iowa State, I will root like hell for him.

CSP doesn’t strike me as a man that would be caught up in those things. I thought someone posted he wants to retire at Iowa State.

And someone once posted that Fred would never coach in college again. Things change.

I guess it will depend on how fondly Prohm remembers his days at his alma mater. That and how much money they throw his way.

If Bama offers him $3M/yr I couldn't really blame him. Would JP match or beat that? I kind of doubt it.

It is baffling to me how some on here actually want Fred over Prohm...Fred is never ever returning to coach at ISU...ever.

What is really going to sting is if Prohm leaves and Fred still hasn’t taken a job and declines ISU...Wanna see Fred legend status plummet...wait until that happens..

But it won’t...Prohm isn’t leaving ISU for quite some time which is good.

Fred can go to Lincoln..good luck in that sh@$ hole...

I agree

I agree it’s a lateral/downward move but I would be made if he went to his alma mater, plus with how hard some clones fans make it replacing Fred

The alma mater thing doesnt mean everything. Look at Fred. Or Bill Self.

Steve spent a few years at alabama, but that doesnt mean its his dream to spend his career there. He's been all over, both before and after Alabama.
