Random Thoughts the 13th: Jason Takes RTT

So, this morning I'm at work and can't remember our password to get to our bank account. I try calling Wifey-poo, but keep hitting the wrong numbers on the phone. I look at my co-worker and say,"God, I keep mis-dialing the damn phone. Ever do that in your dreams?"

Then my alarm went off.

Reminds me I worked at a job for 10 years that included lots of weird but important record keeping, passwords, and other misc. details. I got out of it two years ago but still occasionally have a dream that I need to enter something or find a record, etc.

I’ve got a moral dilemma here peeps.

About a year and a half ago we went to Direct Deposit at work finally. Before that I used to just do mobile deposit with Wells Fargo where you take a pic of the front and back and the next day it’s in your account.

I was going through old bills and **** to scrap and came across a paycheck from May 2017. I was mobile depositing a different check anyway so I did this one just to make sure it was deposited.. but it went through.

Usually if you try and deposit a check that’s already been deposited; it will come back with a message right away that you’ve already deposited that check and will reject it. I got a confirmation was successful email from Wells so it went through.

Is a double deposit possible with mobile deposit? I feel like I wouldn’t have just never deposited it back in 2017; but I can’t look up history that far back.

Do I just let it go or do I say something to my owners? They probably wouldn’t care anyway and if they do ask, I’ll just say that I found it and that it went through. Maybe I’m an idiot and didn’t deposit it, but I highly doubt it.

Try it about five or six more times. It's the only way to know for sure.

If their systems changed they may just be archived statements so your bank doesn’t notice. The double checks would be their bank and obviously their accountant should catch it. You probably will be getting contacted by accounting in a few days.

I dug back through old emails from 2017 and realized that it did get deposited. Email sent to the owners trying to figure out how to fix it.

Had a friend recommend a yoga app the other day...seems really great and targets where I need to strengthen.

Hopefully I get there at some point...I work out running/lifting quite a bit but good sign that I need yoga is that the session started with sitting criss-cross applesauce and I almost fell over.

Called downdog app.

Anyone else use it?

No, but I need to get back to doing it again. Wife and I did yoga back in our late 20s. I used to play a ton of volleyball (indoor and sand) and I went about 10 years with perpetual back pain of various degrees. Picked up a few yoga classes and my back never felt better.

I may check that out

Looks pretty good...you can pick specific sessions for opening up the hips, flexibility, low back, etc. which is exactly what I need. Sessions are like 20ish minutes and I think it's like $5/month or $36/year.

Should really try to get more 'right' before I lift actually.

Murphy's Law of fire detector batteries. They will expire and start beeping their little asses off but only at or after midnight. Last night, at least it was one that didn't needed an extension ladder to reach.

what's the deadline for filling out the RTT bracket? I'm going to try and get that done. Someone tag me about 7pm and I should try to do that on my phone rocking the monster instead of playing wordscape.
Well, it's not 7.00pm, but you haven't done your bracket yet!!!

THIS. I have had serious thoughts about smashing every one of those confounded !@?$!&!! things, about 2:30AM when I'm trying to figure out which one is dying.

Plus getting on the stepladder when you're half awake isn't the best idea, either.

My guess is once it hits the issuing bank it will get rejected. As of now your bank shows the deposit because you registered a deposit which triggers off the verification process. It will most likely be rejected. Hopefully you don't incur some sort of fee.

If it was up to me, I'd check with my employer to make sure I didn't double dip. Someone in accounting will notice, if I know my bean counters.
