Morning Rush

I used to listen daily on the way to work, but don't as much as the same stuff got tiring. Mainly, while some on here like the Sean jabs, I think it gets old. I get there is this "mother/father" role they play with him....but it's a tired act....as is the "Sean dating" stuff.

This one really ****** me off. No one cares about his dating life except Travis. Travis likes living vicariously through Sean, so he likes to hear about his dating escapades and probably admire his short stack while he sits in his tighty whiteys. I have no idea what the appeal is for Travis other than other neanderthals who still get kicks out of saying "boobs" to get a laugh.

Wish they would have put Ken and Condon in that slot but Ken probably wasn’t having it.

Yeah because I want to hear about point spreads and gambling all morning.

Count me as one of the many that don't mind The Morning Rush. Travis is a jack ass at times, but the show isn't terrible.

It's not your hardcore sports show, but it's the morning show so it probably needs to be a little lighter. It's amusing most of the time.

Most of the people I've seen hating on the Rush are people that hate Heather and love guys like Ken Miller.

I've listened to Miller and Condon during their lunch time show and it's nothing special. A little local stuff mixed in with the same national talk that you hear the rest of the day on any sports radio station. Then they get into their riveting break down of point spreads and who each of them are going to bet on for the night. Compelling radio right there.

I listen to the morning rush for similar reasons as others have mentioned, I don't care about the Antonio Brown drama, I want to hear about local stories. But, it can be pretty tough to listen to sometimes.

One poster above mentioned how the show is UNPREDICTABLE!, and that's exactly what Travis wants you to think, and the role he tries to play, but he never says anything that is really provocative, thought-provoking, or "telling it like it is", he's just crass and a blowhard. He thinks he's so edgy, but really he's just a doofus who can't come up with anything interesting to say, so he defaults to bathroom humor and being rude. If that fails, it's on to humble-bragging about his job or traveling.

And I always shake my head, at Travis and Heather, when they do the "Sean is dumb" stuff, especially not knowing certain facts or how to pronounce certain words. They make fun of Sean for that, then have the exact same foibles themselves. So, they're hypocrites.

This is what it was like listening when it was Travis, Ross, and Sean. Bevis and Butthead meets conservative talk radio, meets a high school podcast, meets a group of adolescent boys going through puberty and discovering boobs. Because they're, "edgy" and not PC.

Spot on.

I remember when they were publically trying to get one of the WHO reporters to go on "a date" with him and they agreed to coffee..but it was awkward and I felt bad for her because she already was in a relationship and, as you said, it was just a super creepy Travis living through Sean.

I'm not obviously part of the "young professional Des Moines crowd." Is someone like Sean considered "cool?" He seems to me to be trying REAL hard to be hip (wood bat league) former Juco ball player, but also taking on weight as we all do. Does the "hook up" culture work for guys like him?

Have you seen his picture? He's a nice looking fella, but has a hell of a pompadour, or at least did for awhile. By my math, he's about 30 but seems to act like he's a recent college grad still. Typical stuck in college "jock". I think playing athletics at any collegiate level is an accomplishment, but let's stop with the idea that he's God's gift to athletics. He played baseball at Grandview.

I have seen photos....and your descriptor nails it, lol.

Listening to the morning rush and the afternoon fanatics makes makes a 40 minute commute a lot more tolerable. I like the mix of sports and non-sports. Better than listening to the same playlist of songs that is played every rock station - songs that I can remember when they were new 40 or more years ago.

Tried listening last week after not listening for over a year. Nothing seems to have changed, other than 5 O. Who is that, they certainly think he is really something.

Forgot about that. That was painfully awkward.

The Morning Rush is appointment radio for me. I listen to it when I'm in town and on the road. This combo is much better than Deace and Miller, Travis and Tim, Ken and whoever, etc. I can get sports anywhere, any time of day. I appreciate TMR offering something different and unpredictable.

Travis and Tim? Not exactly setting a high bar to clear.

I'm stunned there are so many that like this show. It is the worst sports radio I have ever heard...well ok maybe second to Travis and Tim. It's just garbage and I won't listen. I'll listen to the other local shows but not that.

You probably like Van and Bonnie, eh?
I enjoy it, not afraid to admit it. Is it serious in depth sports coverage?

Absolutely not, is it mildly entertaining with the occasional laugh out load moment? For me, yes.

Do they talk about things relevant to my life (local sports, craft beer, current events)? Also yes.

Didn't Travis try to get Sean to try to have her break up with her boyfriend? Who in their right mind says something like that? To go a step further, what kind of narcissistic sociopath broadcasts it over the air? Oh wait, the kind of narcissistic sociopath who sits in his Omaha basement in his underwear doing a Des Moines sports talk show.
