The jiggle the door handle just reminded me of an incident a couple weeks ago. Went with this guy for training. We are at a customers house and the customer met us at the door and pushed the screen door open to us (at his house). My supervisor grabbed the door and went in and just kinda partially held it open for me. I did one of those grab the door with my left and the door handle with my right hand, limited space so I was needing to shimmy around it a little.

As I pull the door open, mostly by the handle, enough to get around it; the door handle comes off in my hand. Now I'm standing there with a door handle in my hand while the customer and supervisor are just inside taking shoes off and chatting. I frantically worked the handle back on and didnt touch it again. When we left, I made sure not to touch it.

not the same but this story reminded me of it. Our realtor friend once walked through a patio screen door in a house she was showing.

The deer are becoming less crepuscular...there is a lone young doe outside right now, about 20 ft from the house, digging the snow away from the edges of a patch they already cleared, exposing more clover for her to eat. We've seen them several times in the past few days down by the creek in the middle of the day. The deer trails are pretty distinct - the snow down at the bottom is up to their chests in places.

Just don't make the mistake of feeding them - you'll regret it. You can, with patience, eventually get them to eat out of your hand (not the bucks, though, probably). But they will keep coming back and start eating all the stuff you don't want them to.

My wife did that to our front screen door. I fixed it so it is still usable, but it will never be the same.

He's a gun nut, and we've had the police over.
Guy and I met by chance outside later (after I got my midnight snack). He's a dumbass, and convinced that I just went ahead and entered his apartment. Says his dad saw me, and his dad worked corrections, so he wouldn't lie, and this will get a shotgun next time.

I mentioned to him that was extreme for something that never happened, and that I'd gone ahead and spoken with the police about this response. He went back to the fact that his dad wouldn't lie about this and I would, so go ahead and jiggle his door handle, cuz ain't nobody ever changing the Second Amendment (really).

So I told him that we didn't need to waste any more of my time and went inside.
And the 2nd Amendment can just **** right off. This guy is why that crap doesn't work, and my bad for the cave moment.

I'm a gun owner, but not an a$$hole. People like him obviously have McCaffery (anger management) issues.

But seriously - I don't want you to not be true to yourself, but I wouldn't piss this guy off. There's a really fine teaching job waiting for you somewhere, and the kids you teach will be glad they had you.

I've spoken to him all I need to. Since I don't have a habit of entering apartments, this should blow over nicely.

And I see a FT support job at DMACC just opened up. That might be a nice little fit if it's possible.

When mom did a lot with the local food bank she would bring home all the bread that was past date because they couldn't give it away. There was always a lot so we would tear up about a laundry basket full and dump it in the yard. The deer would be there at 4pm daily waiting. If mom or dad brought it out they would just step aside. They were a little more skittish if I brought it out. Even after they no longer did it the deer would still stop by about that time looking for any other scraps we would throw out for them.

At the ranch, there was a small herd that would come running when Grandpa let the screen door slam in the early evening. He would go out & scatter corn for them. They also learned to not bother showing up when the door slammed throughout the day as us grandkids went running in & out. :D

We've protected the young fruit trees we planted, and we keep them out of the area right up by the house, which is where my flower garden is. They chomp on the hostas at the bottom end of the garden, but most years, they leave the other stuff alone.
However, I moved my begonias up onto the balcony last summer. Those proved fairly irresistible to the deer when I had them at ground level, despite all of my repellent efforts. So I had amazing blooms from July until late October this year...all variations on cardinal & gold. :D

That's Milo, to give perspective on the size of some of the blooms.

Kudos to you and Papa Lew on the snow removal job. It looks tremendous.

I have to admit that the first party we had at our house I was talking to some of our guests while grilling and I walked right into the sliding screen on our sliding deck door. I never did before and haven't since but I had to do it when there was the most people in our house there has ever been.

My screen on my sliding door is all messed up because I've walked into it on a couple of occasions. No alcohol involved either so I can't blame it on anything but lack of paying attention.

Dictionary result for manipulate
/məˈnipyəˌlāt/
verb
  1. 1.
handle or control (a tool, mechanism, etc.), typically in a skillful manner.
"he manipulated the dials of the set"
synonyms: operate, handle, work, control, use, employ, utilize
"the workman manipulated some knobs and levers"
I had to verify that I understood exactly what you were getting at. I think I'm busy any day you may need to "manipulate" me. I don't think you're my type.
So we're saying Bob Kraft was manipulated?

Today not only included opening a file folder in my computer documents that was completely empty (should have contained spreadsheets that I use daily), but also this gem of a conversation:

Me: "Hi, I was wondering if I could get a copy of an invoice?"
Her: "Sure! What's the invoice number?"
*I give it to her*
Her: "And what's a fax number for you?"
*headdesk*
Me: "It's area code 515...."

I only like this commercial because I can recite that line nearly identical to how she says it. I can affect a pretty darn good Valley girl accent.

Dunno what that says about me.
It just evidences your incredible and expansive range--from Eowyn to Valley Girl. Hmmm...what about Eowyn as a Valley Girl?
