Agree, guys were running around like crazy madmen with an agenda on defense. They were hustling after loose balls too. Refreshing to see and even though the game was close early, based on the effort they were showing, didn't really have much doubt of them losing.
I think sometime they try to run out before possessing the ball, you are right they might need to stick around and block out more. Their offensive sets are more than good enough to still get a high percentage shot if they have to run it in the half court
Actually I thought ISU got more 2nd chance points last night on rebounds.
Pretty average teams make the tourney every single year. OU isn't BAD. They are just average maybe above average a bit. That also doesn't mean a 17 point win is something to just toss aside. They are a likely tourney team but were also playing better, having won their last two.
Why are posters on here trying to pick fights and start drama when there is none? You accuse jeresib et al. of not enjoying wins but that’s exactly what you’re doing.

That was a convincing win over a currently right side of the bubble tournament team which makes it a nice win. Oklahoma's going to need to win 1 of their last 2 (vs Kansas, @KState) or get an upset in KC to be completely safe imo. They're above Lunardi's "last 4 byes" right now fwiw so they likely have some wiggle room.
I would consider our "good wins" though @TexasTech, @KState, Kansas, Ole Miss, and @Oklahoma. Those 4 road wins are all considered Quad 1A wins. The Kansas home win could move into that category too when the NET updates, it's currently borderline.
Outside of his couple bad step backs and off balanced shots, he had some tremendous dishes and was awesome around the basket.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet but I see signs the THT is becoming the leader of the team the past couple of games. I wanted to see how he followed his twitter comments up after the TCU game about fans doubting the team and Talen showed up.
THT was aggressive to the rim from the start getting to the rim, and is getting more vocal through out the game. I also felt that Talen took it upon himself to end the game the last 6 minutes. Shayok was equally as good to get the lead (with THT in foul trouble) but I felt Talen was the one who provided the knock out 3 and later steal that ended it. Very good signs for the rest of the year and assuming he comes back for next season.

They recently beat a TCU team without Noi. Also beat Texas without Roach on Saturday.
After watching the Baylor postgame presser and seeing Shayok fuming, I felt good about him providing a spark down the stretch. Going in to Saturday at TCU, I was expecting him to have a big game, but he got hit with two quick fouls and sat most of the first half. The "Shayok had an off game at TCU" narrative is just lazy. I'm not sure he even played 15 minutes. It wasn't like he played 37 and went 2-18 from the field. He probably would have been the difference at TCU had he not been hit with early foul trouble.
Regardless, I'm hoping we've identified the guy who is going to lead us down the stretch.
I think one of the underappreciated stats from last night's game was rebounding. Specifically:
Shayok 6, Babb 8, Wigginton 6. We've needed those guys to dig into the paint and get those longer rebounds, and last night they did. Lindell's big rebound in the second half was ferocious. Looked like he had jet shoes on.
Yeah... tough morning for the Steve Prohm can't coach crowd.
He can coach, but I still get frustrated with how timeouts are used. Talk with assistant coaches for a minute, talk to players for 30 seconds, and go sit on the bench while the on the floor team talks to each other, or refs, or whoever else is out there. I can understand knowing that these guys need to figure it out for themselves, but of the great coaches out there not too many share this style.
They’re trying really hard though. Oklahoma sucks the preseason expectations were wrong since we are meeting and in many cases exceeding them.

He coached this team way better than most would. Also, it may be different if he hadn't had so many senior leaders for the majority of his years here. I am not sure if he had the same style last year or not. Just saying it is different from vast majority of coaches, and as a classic basketball fan it seems unproductive.
Yeah, agree. He played 16 minutes due to foul trouble, and I think the team finally had it rolling in the second half, and Prohm is definitely a guy who sticks with the hot lineup.
I almost hate to say this, but one my frustrations with Prohm has been not playing certain guys in foul trouble. Shayok isn’t very foul prone, and he only ended up with 3 fouls.
That being said, when Shayok had 3 fouls when he gave up an easy layup to a 41% FT shooter, so maybe it wasn’t a bad idea to sit him until he didn’t need to play cautiously.
