Yeah, not only was he extending out, but he was staying in front of guys. Very intense. Exactly what we need from him. I think it helps when the bigs are properly positioned to head off the drive on the pick and roll. Allows our guys out there to defend a bit tighter.

And he had a nose for the ball. He got some rebounds and he was mixing it up.

One thing I did notice last night is that we're often hesitating on the catch once we have the defense out of position, which allows them to recover. There were several times where I thought a decisive move toward the bucket would have had us free wheeling inside their defense, but that moment of hesitation allowed them to recover and we just had to reverse the ball.

I did not. What was up with his shoes?
He had flashy lights in the heels of his shoes! I didn't notice it until partway through the second half, so he either had them turned off at first or changed shoes at some point. I noticed the reflections on the floor first.

Edit: I just went back and watched @Cyched 's highlight reel - you can see them when he's shooting his three, but you have to be looking for it. The TV lighting makes it harder to see on screen than it was from my seat in the rafters.

It looked to me like this was Wigginton's best defensive game. He looked really solid for the most part.
He was terrific on defense at OU as well. If he can consistently play defense like those two games this team is going to be tough to beat.
Like others said, all the ISU guards were really aggressive in the passing lanes yet weren't gambling for steals. I get that ISU should beat OU at home, but that was a terrific defensive effort that dictated the pace. This isn't a great defensive team, but unlike years past it is good enough and versatile enough to speed up the pace of the game vs. slow it down, muck it up teams by pressuring the ball and passing lanes.

If we play defense like that we can beat almost anyone. We guarded the ball well and I think only gave up like 2 drives to the rim.

OU has a ton of talent but they just don't play well together. James could be a stud but he isn't assertive enough. Doolittle is a load and they tried to play through him but I'm not sure he's a guy you can play through. Manic is a good stretch mismatch guy. I have no idea why McNeese doesn't play more he was really good last year and is barely getting any time this year, but when he's in there he does good things.

The posters on here crapping on a blowout win against a tournament team need to go find a new team to "support."

I actually think its pretty mellow. Wins tend to send the biggest critic back to the catacombs of where he dwells, waiting for the opportunity of the shade a loss provides to come back out and provide unsupported comments and meanderings about program apocalypse.

Welcome to the internet, when teams take care of business at home against teams they are favored to beat there isnt much to talk about. People are generally content and looking ahead to the next game. You guys think Duke's message board blows up every time they beat Clemson in Cameron?

Maybe, but you know damn well that if Fred were still here you would be gushing about the win. Don't deny it.

Good bounce back win.

Was encouraged to see us respond after the timeout Prohm called down 14-7 early.

Outstanding second half. Adjusted to shut down their perimeter offense, fought for rebounds on both ends, stole the ball like we used to, and made shots. Back on the right track, and a lot to build on from tonight

We did have 12 steals against TCU. It was what kept us in the game despite the poor shooting.

Oklahoma doesn't suck, most mock brackets still have them safely in the tourney right now as a 9 or 10 seed. They just won in Fort Worth a week ago, something we failed to do.

Fair enough. They haven't looked like anything special to me all season but it's a matter of opinion.

No I am okay with critical, its critical not based on supporting fact, that I am not a fan of hyperbole and double standards.

By they way I find it interesting you chimed in, you assumed I was talking about you.

We went into offensive transition, had the ball on left arc by where Prohm usually stands. An OU defender was behind us and one fell down. Instead of driving the lane and going 5 on 3, THT looked at the defender on the floor too long and that allowed them to regroup, and then we missed a long shot.
Ball reversals were pretty good for us, but we need to pound the pain by driving more. THT is pretty good for a freshman about going down there. Once we start doing that, we can also start throwing some 5 ft lobs to Cam, instead of the ones from the 3pt arc.

I was planning to complain about rebounding as it seems like we are constantly giving up offensive rebounds but then I saw we out rebounded OU 35-30. I think that had to do with the fact that we shot 51% for the game including almost 48% from 3. In the first half it seemed like they were out hustling us on the boards which IMO was the difference in the Baylor and TCU games. Too many second chance points. It's partly because we play 4 guards and teams with big athletic guys are just going over us. We need to do a better job blocking out and drawing some over the back fouls. Always happy for a win and support our players and coaches.
