Why is Conditt not getting more minutes?

If they can't even come in for a few minutes at a time to give the starters a break then why are they even on the team? Talley is a guy who played 25 minutes last year against Big 12 competition, you are telling me if he comes in for 5 minutes our 15 point lead vanishes due to one player? Thats completely ridiculous.

Also, I thought we had depth this year? He's riding the starters just as hard as he's always done, all I've heard all year is how much depth we have but he's not using it if thats the case.
To practice, develop, push the rotation guys, and in emergencies be able to step in. I wouldn't call the KU game an emergency. We do have depth otherwise there would be no thread...

Emergencies? Im sure Talley is just thrilled with the role of practice body and "emergencies". All Im saying is if Prohm is scared to death that him getting 3 minutes to give one of our guards a breather is such a risk to us losing the game, guys like him and Lewis shouldnt even be on the team.

There are nothing quite like debates on CF about why Player X on the bench is either (1.) not getting more minutes or (2.) looks unhappy and is about to transfer.

College basketball teams are going to shorten their rotation to around seven guys this time of the year unless you are weird (e.g., Iowa) or have some shtick otherwise (e.g., West Virginia). We know who are seven best guys are. That is all we really need to think about.

But he was nailing everything in warm-ups! I don't understand.

I would like to see Conditt get more minutes. He has a high ceiling if you ask me (probably the highest ceiling of the current bigs even) and would love to see him stick around the program. It gets hard if you're riding the bench and you know you could contribute; it would be natural if he's feeling some of that while riding the pine.

I think we need to try two posts against the right teams and match-ups, which will give more time to Conditt, Lard, etc. I also agree with some of the earlier posters that building some more depth and sneaking in Talley and Conditt for a few minutes here or there is important for them and for keeping them game ready in the event we lose a guy to injury later this year.

Conditt seems like he has a great attitude, a great team player, he's a Cyclone legacy and he seems to have maybe even the highest ceiling of the big guys (with room to grow his game given his size and touch).

Hope he sticks around and knows how much the Cyclone Nation appreciates and cheers for him! He's going to be a huge piece in the years to come!

Talley seems pretty engaged. He might understsnd better than you.

Since you are an Iowa fan, one would think you’d understand that huge player rotations are a disaster and rarely work.

I think you are focusing on the negative rather than what a coach might be thinking of as risk for some other positive. Giving Wigginton, THT more time is the risk over giving Talley/Lewis/Conditt. Which do you think has more upside? I understand we want Talley, Lewis, and Conditt to be at a good level of contribution and able to play some spot minutes. There is no perfect answer.

Huge? We are talking about an 8 player rotation here. Im not talking about getting the 12th man on the roster minutes. How do you know he's engaged? If I was a betting man Id be willing to put some money down that he wont be here next year.

Classic Cyclonefanatic, talk all off-season about the best depth we've had in the history of the progam and how we should go 10 deep.......fast forward to teams only play 7 guys anyways, why do you want anyone after that getting spot minutes, and some guys only should be used in emergencies.

Nah.....you would be better served using that money to help Barta buy out that red face lunatic's contract so you guys can get a better coach at Iowa.

I think this is you, nobody was talking about depth in the offseason or even early season for fear of huge losing streaks with injuries and suspensions

That first line couldn't sound more like a Fran fan if you tried.
Everyone doesn't play. Such is life. I'd love to see 8-9, but this approach is winning.

I was wondering why George Conditt is not getting more minutes. I know Lard is playing more and Jacobsen is playing quite a bit, but the past few games Conditt has really not played at all. I think he could have provided some valuable minutes against Kansas, especially with our foul trouble. I also think he would have at least gotten a few minutes against Ole Miss except for the last minute or two. I thought before the Kansas game he was playing pretty well. Would he possibly be in Prohm's dog house?

I have been called a lot of things on CF, especially in the cave......but never a troll. Guess I hit a nerve. Regardless.....I don't know why you are getting so upset......I was trying to do you a favor by helping you invest your money into something productive.
