Between laptop and two monitors, phone and headset and now another headset to plug into the laptop I have so many damn cords and cables all over the place. It's just a mess

So, I think the coffee maker is running hotter water lately. I was slowly walking back with my cups of tea and the water was sloshing more then usual. I actually had to drop the cups of water.

After cooling it off and icing it the rest of the day, I thankfully only have a dark pink skin from it. I have no idea why I don't have a gaping blister, but am very very thankful.

I got new rubber on the wife's ride but I have been holding out as long as possible on mine even though it needs it. I hate putting new tires on in the spring. It seems like I am wasting the best rubber on the easiest driving weather. I want fresh rubber to attack that snow - so I can try to dodge the fools who are driving on bald tires as well.
So...many...double entendres

I should see if I can dig up my bib overall uniform concept from a past thread.

I had an interesting robo call message left. My Microsoft Windows has expired and I have to call immediately to get it reinstated. I wonder what that's gonna cost me.
In the last few days, Wyndham, Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton have all left me a message that I've been selected for an all-expenses paid vacation.

Just saw A Star is Born. Good movie.

I think she's talented and all (favorite stuff I've seen is her jazz standards) but I just can't get into Lady Gaga.

Even saw her documentary and didn't come away with any kind of new appreciation or anything, which I usually can with those types--the one about Amy Winehouse left me sad and infuriated that it all fell apart.
Lady Gaga won me over with her surprising Super Bowl and Grammies/Metallica performances.

Construction has begun on the new $12 million Catholic church here. That means two of the most historic buildings in town - Corpus Christi and Sacred Heart churches - will be either abandoned, re-purposed, or (gulp!) destroyed.

The former director of our Sanctuary Choir at St. Olaf Lutheran here is a good friend of mine, and also the organist and music director for the Catholic churches. He told me that there are many long-time Catholics, most of whom are primarily responsible for the financial support of the Catholic church, that are very angry with this decision. He further stated that in his opinion it could hurt the church a great deal in the future money-wise.

Unfortunately, this decision was made pragmatically, as lack of clergy and lack of money has forced the church to close all its satellite churches in the rest of Webster County. And this is an issue for almost all organized Christian denominations, ours included. :(

Not exactly sure.

Not to get in a religious discussion more of a "management" set up of certain faiths. The local Catholics also have two priests who serve about 6-7 congregations around here. The town west is in a different group of 6-7. I have felt that pastors serving multiple locations never work as well. The interaction with the congregations and the communities is not there. They can't hang out after services because they are flying to the next one and then it's lunch time and people have other plans.

Our church was tied to another smaller town church for several years. The synod pushed this, a decision (made while I was not a member) that nearly destroyed it. We have a congregation that can support a full time pastor, they did not so the synod pushed to have us assist them. It made it difficult to find pastors who wanted to come (generally got weaker ones or ones who were retired but hadn't announced it yet) and with lack of congregation/pastor connection, members started leaving. The last joint call committee (which I was on) broke the yoke and that is probably what has saved the church.

I need new dress shoes. Cheap ones will do since I rarely wear them. It's hard to find cheap dress shoes now. The have loafers, but I'm not a loafer kinda guy, gotta tie my shoes.

First of all, I don't like to tie my shoes so I prefer loafers. Second, try Kohls for dress shoes.

I'll change the religious subject here a little bit. I stopped at the liquor store on my way home. Arriving at the checkout counter simultaneously were 3 people from my church. 1. Myself 2. A former Cub Scout leader from my son's old troop 3. Our head pastor.

We were the only 3 customers in the liquor store.
