Don’t judge me, but I think I’m going to go to “The Meg” tomorrow afternoon....
I never read the book but I did read the sequel. I was at the airport years ago and needed something to read for my trip so bought it at an airport shop not realizing it was a sequel. It was pretty clear in the sequel what happened in the first book. Not a bad mindless read.

Rode a test prep ride for Sunday. did not crash. did not die. FTW

BTW, there is a new lake trails hazard, those Lime electric share scooter things. Saw six on the bike trail at Calhoun and Harriet, four going the wrong way on the one way path. This is going to be interesting since they are ridden by the oblivious, don't stop that great and are cash prone with those little tiny tires.

Watched one cross Third Ave. South downtown today. Crossed against the light without looking. Luckily the motorists were generous and let him putt-putt across the intersection rather than just going on their green light and running him over.

I am dreading when these hit in numbers, some folks are going to get hurt. :(

Honestly, I really enjoyed The Meg. You have to accept it for what it is. It’s meant to be a fun, campy film and that’s what it was. Jason Statham is never going to be a good actor, but he’s a good action actor, and he and the main female protagonist I thought did really well together. Rainn Wilson I thought was surprisingly good in it. It dragged a bit at the end. Two hours for a campy action film is a bit long, but still, don’t regret going to it at all. I had fun.

Despite the over the top character he played in The Office, I get the idea that Rainn Wilson is actually a pretty good actor.

I'm surprised we don't have more serious accidents already from cyclists who think neither the rules of pedestrian nor of vehicles apply to them. I know there was a cyclist killed last week who ran a light. And to think a few years ago there were Councilmembers in Mpls who wanted to make it legal for cyclists to run red lights. Or maybe it was state legislators...

We described it as a rom com with shark(s). There were a lot of good throwaway lines. Even Lew said it was entertaining.

OK, I was not prepared for the challenges that came with summer graduation.
I'm glad I pushed my way into one position, but a little dismayed that it doesn't pay until the end of September. Since we're not swimming in $, that's a long time.

Another wave of apps went out today for PT work. I'm 100% sure that I'll never hear from any of them.

So we scramble on to the next bunch of ideas. This apparently was not meant to be easy or straight forward.

It's hard to look for PT work when it feels like they'd rather hire someone who's going to work their way up.

I was a busser in a former life and have thought about finding a space just to pick up a few shifts and make some easy cash.
