2018 Cap City League

I have never heard of any restrictions on who can or cannot shoot video at Y Cap City games. There are others out there who do what thompsonclone does, they just don't always post them here.

Did you get shut out in some way? I always liked your clips because they just showed the plays and weren't trying to be cute like some of the other video productions.
Nope I haven’t got shut out yet but it wouldn’t surprise me if it happened. I was told to stop getting Hilton Madness highlights so it wouldn’t surprise me if the CCL wants their highlights to be the only ones. My comment was more along the lines not being sure if it was worth of the work of getting highlights if somebody else is going to do it now.

Competition is always good for the consumers.

I wouldn’t mind the competition if I was getting paid for it lol. When you’re only doing it for the players, their families who can’t go and fans who can’t go, it doesn’t seem worth it if someone else is going to do it.

Whatever you decide, I've really appreciated your work over the years. Hopefully you continue to provide recaps/analysis as that's generally more useful than just highlights.

It seems like we're miles from the year Royce played. Seems like our guys are trying to get out of it for the most part now. I will admit I'm surprised they still do it to a certain extent, it's a long drive to WDM and I honestly don't think they get anything out of it.

Agree - Especially for someone like LW - he does not need to have someone try to make a name for themselves against him and ending up injured. The depth on the rosters is not very deep especially with Drake being down. Probably would be better off scrimmaging against themselves in Sukup. That being said it is a nice way for the fans to see and interact with them. I could see LW making a few appearances down there even if he doesn't play.

CCL used to be must see for the wife and I (usually went to several each summer). With all the no-shows/no-plays the last couple of years we have decided not to go. Unfortunately, CCL is running out of gas...

This. I remember the week LW played last year and (Malachi Canada I believe?) was mauling him, tripped him in multiple possessions. For a blue chip guy who just saw what making millions could look like next year, I don't blame him.

CW also makes a good point on this. You're getting out of the training facility, having fun with your teammates and getting some run in against guys you don't see every day (wouldn't count on Drake being too down either, they piled on a bunch of transfers that look decent, and the Murphy twins are real good for MVC)

I really don't know why any ISU players even play in the CCL. Does ISU get anything out of this? The players sure don't. Sure the fans do, but ISU basketball does not hurt for fans.

I just think this is a big risk with little to no reward at all. The guys can bond all they want to in the practice facility.

Honestly, isu should have it's own draft, and do a 3v3 round robin or tourney. Open it to the public, could stay in Ames and get just as much or more out of it.

Saying that, there is a rule on how many can play together organized basketball like that. Is it 2 or 3 players, I forget
