@harimad, What you've missed softball talk (a little) by Birdy & BC. Biking updates by Boxster (I haven't been out enough to matter). Baby class updates by CG (those have been fun) and cmjh is remodeling his house and getting a puppy. Jcyclonee is visiting many campuses but unluckily the daughter is leaning toward TOE:(.
We're visiting Chicago schools in a couple of weeks (NW and Loyola). Holy crap, NW is expensive. And they evidently don't give out much financial aid. If she decides to go there she'll have a truckload of debt.

I was invited to play pick-up beach volleyball with some of my coworkers and their friends tonight. It was a lot of fun except for the fact that I haven't played volleyball since high school PE so it was a bit of a learning curve. Also, I found out about a lot of muscles I didn't know I had. I will definitely be sore tomorrow. The dinner and drinks afterwards made up for it though. I think this will be an every Thursday kind of thing so I could help fill the gap left by CG's kickball updates with some volleyball updates; although I doubt mine will ever be as entertaining as hers were!
I'd like to say that the key to a good volleyball update is to write it while still drunk but, based upon how good @cowgirl836 is at baby class updates, that may not be the case.

You always want the calmest one doing the car seat, whoever that would be.
It's really easy, but it takes a steady mind and hand to avert disaster.
We always went with the car seat installation went to the heavier one (since you basically have to lean into the seats to install them correctly). I installed an awful lot of car seats.

When Alana was a senior, she had narrowed here choices to four: Stanford, Miami, Michigan, and Duke. Dear ol' Dad ruled Miami out of the mix. And Stanford didn't offer much in assistance, either - like Northwestern. One of Alana's classmates went to Duke, and we were pretty sure that's where she would end up, but she chose Michigan. The only thing we had to pay for in her four years there were the off-campus expenses. Of course, when she went to Pitt for medical school, it was a bit different.

Miami certainly seems like the outlier there.

My niece wants to go to Hofstra to study theater. Hofstra is a rich kids school on Long Island and costs about $45,000/yr. Her parents are both teachers and she can't motivate herself to get out of bed in the morning to go to high school.

Unfortunately theses private schools in Iowa will run 50-55k/year and give you a 10k/year scholly.

I'm looking at you wartburg and Luther.

Last day of school. Not that it means anything to me at this point other than my mom is done for the summer. Not sure if it is because it is the last year that we won't have a kid in some type of school but it seems to be a little more sentimental to me this year.
