Takes luck and his teams have seemed to just play really well at the end of the season. Skill wise they seem to have some length that obviously helps.

But Michigan plays great defense now. It's startling to see what the hiring of an assistant coach from Illinois State, Luke Yaklich, can do to a team's intensity.

Yup. The thought as I understand it was for Cooke to be in the Tyrus McGee role when he graduated. Not as amazing, but the same kind of role given his shooting at Oregon State.
