K-State to Host ISU at Arrowhead - Confirmed

Unless he's getting a spilt on the take, thats only way. This would still suck b/c you know season tickets are going to be the same price next year with one less conference game. No way are season tickets good at KC.

You're right about that, but we have to do everything we can do to make $$ since our budget is last in the conference. We've gotta pay for JTS renovations some how. JP hasn't really led us astray yet (that I recall), so we've gotta just hope that he's doing the right thing.

Edit: But my guess is you're right, this is essentially an increase in season ticket prices.

I would guess this would be a 2 year thing? Next year ISU hosts them at Arrowhead?

I'm guessing this is for 2009.

I like the idea, I LOVED going to KC for the FSU game a few years ago.

Also, if it does start next year I am assuming the game would be included in ISU season ticket packages (like the KU-MU games) so technically we would sell a ton of tickets for the game.

That's probably why ISU and K-State are doing it. Whatever money they receive in KC will not only be split evenly between the two schools but will pretty much be INCREMENTAL revenue. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Go for it, JP!

I am willing to wait and see the benfits before complaining on hypotheticals.

Hypotheticals is what CF does best.

Speaking of hypotheticals, what are they gonna call this thing? K-State, I-State Civil Border Trophy Bowl War something or other...?

The Border War between KU-MU is not in their season ticket package. You have to buy the extra ticket. I'm guessing it's just like a road game for ISU where season tix holders get priority and so forth...

There is no way...zero, zippo, nada that this game at Arrowhead would be included in the season ticket purchase.

Not gonna happen.

"Right after this, it's Kansas State taking on Iowa State, here on ESPN+"

Still... I think this would be a fun game. I'd probally make the trip from the East Coast for this one... (I want to try to hit 1 or 2 games a year... atleast while I'm single. Doubt it'll happen if/when I get married  [/hypothetical statement])

I would love to see it, although it would suck to take away one more true home game if we have to do a two-year deal. Arrowhead tailgating would be fun!!!

Just gotta find the right woman! We're hitting up 3 games: A&M in Ames, Vegas and Waco...

Personally, I don't like it... I think home games are way more valuable to a team, and really, what's the draw of ISU-KSU to fill up Arrowhead??? Lets take the Cardinal/Gold Glasses off for a second and realize this isn't a huge draw game, especially "on the road"... plus, Ames and Manhattan need all the surplus people feeding the economy as much as they can.
Cool in terms of venue, just don't like it overall...

I am okay with this as long as it is in years where it is in addition to six other home games, which is what the alumni and Ames merchants have been used to in the past anyway.

This would only be done by JP if it was a big net plus for football revenue in both years.

There are lots of Ames-area hospitality businesses in the Cyclone Club - many who have responded to Jamie's pleas for more $$$$ - who would not be pleased if we gave up a home game to play in KC.

Not true for KU.

LJWorld.com / Move to Arrowhead should pay off

In addition, this year’s Mizzou game will be included in KU’s season-ticket package, though Missouri elected not to include the ‘08 game in its season-ticket plan.
