K-State to Host ISU at Arrowhead - Confirmed

Kansas city is the best town in the midwest to go visit for a weekend. The florida state game was great when I went to that . I'm pumped for this game.

Why the heck would Kstate want to give up a home game against us. We are a must win for them, I don't see how this helps them one bit.

Boy, I'm with you on this one - if I was a K-State fan, I would be livid. First the Prince contract extension (?????) and now this. What is going on with K-State football?

If they are hosting the AD's of each school, seems like there is something in place. You don't bring them down for nothing.

That in mind, I doubt that this is going to occur for this year's game. It will probably be the 2009-2010 seasons (meaning we'll most likely give up our home game first)...so I wouldn't be rushing down here yet.

Not for 2008.

Any info on that? The article doesn't really point out a year. That said, it would seem to be pretty quick if it was for this season.

I could also see that this is likely a two year deal. I can't see why either team would be willing to give up a home game without getting the same in return.

Personally, I don't like it... I think home games are way more valuable to a team, and really, what's the draw of ISU-KSU to fill up Arrowhead??? Lets take the Cardinal/Gold Glasses off for a second and realize this isn't a huge draw game, especially "on the road"... plus, Ames and Manhattan need all the surplus people feeding the economy as much as they can.
Cool in terms of venue, just don't like it overall...

Why would we want to give up all the revenue by giving away a home game? Doesnt make sense to me, I dont think its a good idea for a conference game.

agreed!!! go play Navy or Rutgers in the Meadowlands, or play Illinois in Arrowhead or Soldier Field or something... until we have a game that draws like Red River Shootout, we'll spend more than everyone thinks on getting the team down there, the band, etc.

That's definitely a reasonable question. I've gotta think JP wouldn't do it unless ISU could make a **** load of money for their trouble.

Unless he's getting a spilt on the take, thats only way. This would still suck b/c you know season tickets are going to be the same price next year with one less conference game. No way are season tickets good at KC.

I'm sure JP has an angle we are not thinking of and there are a TON of Cyclones in the KC area and many more that can't wait to get there!!!

I'd guess a guaranteed national TV game is probably in there somewhere which helps pay both teams handsomely.

Not to get this to a JP bashing, because I'm a big fan of what he has done, but I think you hit it right there... Hit us in the pocket for season tickets, plus another neutral site that the department gets a cut...
